Some of the stuff are from AORB don't know how much those are worth, but it's painted really well so I was really happy.

This guy goes over board with filing and clipping so all the models are free of mold lines and such.

He also made sure each model with a powerfist is armed with a unique powerfist.

Almost every model is covered with Imperial Fist parts.

All for $250. It's a tough choice. I promised myself I'd never play MEQ again.

Well, buying MEQ or not is up to you but it does seem like a very good deal...

Looks like a fairly well balanced list, if you were to want to field it at full strength for a 2.5-3k point game.

So far my best success was 3 unbuilt 4th ed Leman Russ kits with the vehicle upgrade sprues brand new in box for a $100.

But a fully painted 3k Ork army? That's insane

The walkers alone would cost around $150 new. Only thing you need to do is make or buy Deff Rollas for the Battlewagons.

Asking people if something was worth it, may be one of the most ridiculous questions there can be. No one can tell you what something is worth to YOU.

As for if you got a deal?, in the amount of time it took you to type this out and post it, you could have gone to GW's website and realized that for yourself.

Come on people, figure out your own standards of what something is worth.

To me, I would say you got completely ripped off, because now you have to spend your time and money stripping and repainting to make these models your own.

didn't wake up bad at all, it just bothers me that people want others to tell them how to view things that can't be viewed by others. Worth is something very personal that can only be answered by the individual, not by others.

I know what has worth for me, I know what my time, energy and skills are worth.
Every person needs to find this out for themselves, as asking others will only find out what their worth is, and not yours.


As for the stripping and painting, like I said, that would be in my opinion, unless they were painted by me they wouldn't be mine. I wouldn't want to claim ownership for another person's models. I put time and effort into my gaming, again it comes back to worth, another person's modeling/paintjob may look great, but there's no worth to me, as I didn't do anything.

I paid roughly the same amount for a similar sized ork force not too long ago. Most of them were only primed, while a few had some funky conversions and paint jobs ranging from decent to just plain awful. While at first I'll admit that I had wished I had bought them already painted, I've really enjoyed investing the time and money into painting them to reflect my ideal warband. Even some of the models whose look I initially liked have since been modified to fit in with the overall theme of the army. It's actually one of my favorite parts about the hobby, which wasn't the case when I played as a kid. Still, that is a steal just for the value of the models alone. Maybe as you play you'll find the need add some new trophies to the bosspoles and a few more kill markings to the vehicles.

He asked what "YOU", meaning all of us, thought of his purchase. Clearly your .02 cents could have been summed up as "Nothing... To me."

You're really gonna jump down his throat because he didn't do a price compare with GW? Why would you even mention GW? Wouldn't the better "deal" be found at an online retailer for 15-20% off?

Come on dude, we all know what our standards are... I'm pretty sure that's what the OP was looking for.

Not an attack on anyone, but it really is something everyone should think about, there are way too many people in the hobby that need to figure out what value and worth really is. Asking others to justify something for you is a ridiculous notion.

And yes completely ripped off, now read that post again, I did say "to me you got ripped off" as in "in my opinion". In my view of value and worth, this army would not have been a good deal, because of the reasons i stated.

Now then, looking at purely monetary deal, YES, you should always check at GW, that gives you what you calll a baseline, or a trueprice to compare to. Saying gee go to a deal site to compare is the same as going to thrift stores to compare to regular store prices. Obviously the "deal" sites are going to be cheaper than GW, that's their entire schtick. But, you still need that base line.

Now if people want to be immature about something and not read something in the proper context, then we can get an old fasioned internet fight going on in PM, I'mm make sure to polish up my caps lock too!
