I made this like a month ago, but i didn't upload any pictures untill now.
I'm really happy how he turned out. I currently use him as a Sergeant in one of my veteran squads.

That is literally one of the coolest things I have ever seen, where did you get the dog model from?
To think a German Shepherd could potentially take down Calgar makes me happy.

Looks really cool. Reminds me of a combat dog, and it almost makes me get teary eyed with memories.

It took me hours to find a fitting model. The dogs were either to ugly, wrong race, wrong scale or to damn expensive.
After much determination i found this
http://www.eurekaminusa.com/product.aspx?id=1627&cid=124
If i recall i had to order stuff for a minimum of 8$ + shipping for the order to be valid. Concidering all the other models on the site were butt-ugly i bought 6 of them.
Should you, or any1 else be interested in buying one of the five i have left i will gladly sell them. PM me if you are interested.

But... does the dog count as an assault weapon? and if so, is it unwieldy?

In a friendly game i could probably get away with anything. In a tourney they would probably only let me use his ccw.
In my opinion gw should make a "lifeguard" upgrade:
"When in a challenge, roll a D6.
On a 1-2, the dog is slain as it charges.
On a 3-4, the character gets an aditional attack.
On a 5-6, the enemy character is pinned by the dog, and fights with Initative = 1, and WS -1."

...or something

I've no idea what your IG look like, but go on.
A good source of dog is weirdly from GW themselves, with Farmer Maggot from LOTR

Imperial guard: Because quantity has a quality of it's own.

Sisters of Battle can be used in any game, with the exception of chess, Monopoly and of course, Warhammer 40,000.

After 8 editions, you might have thought that GW could get fantasy right.

Why not? If a pathetic guardsman can *To this day I don't know how I did it* then a German Shepherd definitely can!

Awesome looking model
