This is my first attempt at a model for my Word Bearers army, I think it turned out a lot better than my Salamander. I think I do quite well without edge highlighting. Maybe I am just not at that stage in my painting development yet. Please C & C, be it positive or negative, criticism is what I am looking for and is the only way I will improve my skills. Thank you for looking, onto the pictures.

There you have it, also if anyone can give me any suggestions to get better lighting in my light box so that I can get brighter pictures it would also be greatly appreciated.

That's pretty good. The horns could be a bit cleaner, but from a distance, they're fine.

Also, for future models, be sure to remove the mold lines.

@ Tim - Thank you, and yes I agree that the horns could be a little cleaner, as I was applying the highlight I tilted the model and the highlights came out crooked. As far as the mold lines go, I know about them, the first 5 models I forgot to remove mold lines and before I realized it it was too late. =(

Outside the DarkTower, amongst the roses.

Not to bad, once your on your second squad I bet they will be much better. Keep it up, love me some chaos threads.

1. Prime the model Black.

2. Dry brush Mephiston Red.

3. Red wash.

4. Trim with Boltgun Metal.

5. Wash Boltgun Metal areas with nun oil.

6. Do the details.

Thats pretty much how I did this guy and will do the rest of the army as well. And thank you for the all the great comments.

Looks good, just clean up your mold lines more, especially if you are dry brushing.

The eyes are a bit goopy in the corners, not sure if that's an OSL kinda thing, but a quick way to clean it up is to use a black ink or diluted black paint and just touch the tip of the brush into the inner corners of the eyes, the ink will settle along the existing crevice and line the corner.
