For those of you that read my other post my brother has just started play horde and he like everblight and he likes thargosh but he wanted to know if anyone had any good thagrosh recycle lists or ideas or units that would work in such a list ... if anyone has them please let me know here ... thank you.

Recycle list? What do you mean by that?

pThagrosh and his feat turn. Pick 3ish heavies you like, a couple Shredders, a Harrier, and shepherd/Forsaken for flavor. Oh, and hope the opponent doesn't have snacking or other RFP effects on being boxed.

Luckily Snacking only works if the model that is attacking has been damaged. So don't be fooled that the models is RFPed if that Dire Troll was full health.

Prime Thagrosh's feat brings back 1 beast. It is not able to attack, so it can move, case animus, and rile. Its good for the "threat." And great if you lose a lynchpin beast early. I have seen many people use Carnivian's and Scthyan's for the target for the feat, and play they very aggressive initially forcing and opponent to take them down. They feat and shift the model.

Remember the model. Doesn't not have to be in the original location. If your going to take Typhon anyway, he becomes more threatening as the opponent has to kill him 2x. Your brother may want to consider if he is going to run the tier or non tier lists.

I've used this list quite a bit at 35 points in tournaments (including winning the wild west shootout 2 with it).

Scythean 9
Ravagore 10
x10 Legionaires 6
Min spawning vessel 2
The forsaken 2

options: max the vessel, and switch the forsaken to a shepard. option 2: switch the forsaken to two shepard

Basically you want to spam spiny growth on all the beasts+thagrosh every turn, while staying in his command for dark shroud.. It will give you an effective armor 22. It plays almost like a brick list. If they don't have anything that can remove from play, you can throw a beast out there to stomp something and get killed if necessary. Try to always keep the carnivean alive (often I'd save the feat for him just so I wouldn't lose spiny growth).

Legionaires provide corpses for the spawning vessel and tar trap other infantry, or hold objectives. The vessel craps out whatever lesser beasts you feel you need (or in the event of losing spiny growth, shredders for tenacity). More often than not, I spawned harriers or stingers and used them like guided missles.

Aside from all that, attrition is the name of the game. Grind them down with an effective armor 22 on your beasts. Armor 18 on the Lego's and Crazy high armor (plus transfers) on Thagrosh himself.

thank you so much i now my brother will love playing this list ... did you ever try typhon out in this list? ... and if so how well did he work?

Typhon needs help to be worth his points and the more I play the less I field him. He is by no means bad in any way really, just lack luster for 12pts. He's a huge investment and not very survivable even with his animus up.

Abby loves him because Playing god gives him reach and he's a great secondary target for Forced EVO.

pVayl is my goto list for Typhon. He performs so well with chiller and under Incite. He's also the best Dark Sentinel target we have due to crit pitch. P/S 17, even with three initials is kinda meh unless you can buff it. Mat 7 is nice though.

Outside of those two, I'm not too fond of him. Funny enough, my Thagrosh lists tend to run Carni's instead for Spiny Growth shenanigans. pThags can make his heavies effective ARM 22 which is glorious, and eThags can make one ARM 22, or put it on the Throne to ARM 23!

Thanks for the info ... if my brother only wanted to run 1 carni but wants to run 3 heavies what would you recommend for the other 2?

With Typhon, a Scythian. Without Typhon, proabably a Ravagore and a Scythian.

Can't go wrong with a Ravagore and Scythean. They both do their jobs very well.

If you are running Abby, I'd highly recommend 1 Angel (Forced evolution + Tenacity = DEF 17 ARM 18 Beast that can't be knocked down!), Scythean for Carnivore which makes his bloodbath chain attack that much more accurate.

Depends on what caster you run. pThags I've found doesn't want either the Angel or the Seraph.

The Seraph in general is lack luster for 8 pts. The animus is sweet, and the strafe is also useful, but Range 10 is miserable and in melee the seraph dies quickly.

You need to have casters who can take advantage of huge threat ranges to really get the most out of the seraph, or casters who need to extend the threat. Seraphs are also very good with pLylyth due to her feat.

Try them out and see how they work, and over time you'll see where its needed and where you don't need them based on play style/caster/match ups etc.

What Hivemind said on the Seraph. Also a pThags list revolves around getting the armor up to rediculous and haviong Spiny growth deal damage to the attacker. Most of thie time your beast will live and the attacker will lose half thier life in the process. Plus if you lose a beast you just bring it back with your feet.

Swamp Gobbers. Both of those casters have fat bases and the 1 pt minion with the 5" aoe helps a great deal in blocking LOS.

Deathstalkers are amazing and should be a consideration in any list you run.

Legos+Spawning Vessel is one of the best combos in a game of attrition. Get them and use them and watch the enemy cry as you spawn more and more lessers throughout the game.

Shredders with tenacity is a great backup for when SG isn't a viable option. One nice list building tip is to not include a shredder in your base list but bring legos + pot to spawn one for backup. Helps with point crunching etc.
