Hello guys, check out my first ever stug. Not too ugly for a first timer. The only thing I hated was the camo pattern, next time I wont create my own camo pattern. Please comment.

Put a brown wash over it and it will tie it all together.

For sure use a brown or black wash over it to get in the recess' and make it pop a bit... Also you could look into painting the tracks a different colour to make it look more realistic.... other than that its very table top ready.

Agreed with the other recommending the wash. A bit of weathering abound the tracks all helps bring a vehicle to life.

With German Camo there are no hard and fast rules, there where so many different patterns that where used. Allot of the pro painted models you see are very complex, but it's always best to stick to something simple yet effective like you've done if your just starting out.

Hello guys, thanks for the feedback. How do I exactly do a wash. I believe the general flames of war paint set came with a black wash. How do I apply this. Also if I want to get a brown wash, where could I buy it, I dont believe vallejo has one. Is it possible to create the wash by mixing vallejo brown with water?

Army painter strong-tone ink (not to be confused with quickshade dip) is excellent. It's very similar to Devlan Mud in terms of the way it flows and settles.

A tiny bit of water added and it does the job on tanks very well indeed.

I actually wash by thinning down paints with water. It works fine for me, but it would probably be easier for you just to use actual washes.

Washes are really just pre-thinned paints to give added convenience to modellers. You can still easily do it the old fashioned way by thinning out a small amount of paint with water. Only problem with the old fashioned way is if you are hoping to always get the same results. For WWII armor it actually looks better if there is a slight variation in your tanks because during one painting session the wash got thinned a bit more than the previous session.

Edited because I forgot: Nice job for a first camo attempt. Since camo patterns varied almost as much as the crews that applied them, most anything will work and keeping it simple when you start out is a good plan indeed!
