I have a list written, and would just like to know your thoughts.
Keep in mine i have yet to own the 6th ed rule book, so if it doesn't work well with the new rules blame it on that.
anyway here is the list.
HQ: Pedro Kantor :175 points
Troops:
5 man scout squad with snipers:75
5 man scout squad with snipers:75
Elites:
10 man sterngaurd squad w/ 8 combi weapons and a rhino: 325
9 man sterngaurd squad w/ 8 combi weapons and a rhino: 300 (pedro would ride in their rhino.)
Fast attack:
Stormtalon gunship w/ skyfire missiles: 155
Stormtalon gunship w/ skyfire missiles: 155
Heavy support
Predator with las cannon sponsons: 120
Predator with las cannon sponsons: 120
If i have done my math right that should equal exactly 1500 points, although it would be great if one of you guys could check it.
Basic strategy would be for the scouts to hang back and pick off units, while the stormtalons and predators would be AA and AT respectivly, with combi meltas on some of the sterngaurd for insurance.
The sterngaurd would be the main force, and would do most of the capturing.
Is this a viable list in 6th? give me feedback, good or bad.

Sniper scouts would like camo cloaks. Some would also suggest Telion.
I would even be tempted to set one up as to outflank, my gosh I can not believe I am saying this, maybe even in a storm. This would mean a stormtalon can outflank with them.
The snipers are cool but they really do struggle to kill, though the new rules are kind to them and they are clearly the best scouts. However, they are a token unit in your army and outflanking them would give them a bona fide reason for being.
Then you'll want less points in each rhino. This is asking for problems. You may be thinking about combat squadding or something which may work, I do not know.
I would go for 3 rhinos with 6 or 7. This makes them effective number whilst not putting too many points in the faint of any one rhino.
The new rules are kind to the humble heavy flamer. I would have one sternguard squad with 2 heavy flamers, this makes them an antiifantry squad pouring flame from a rhino, also it is good when charged. Otherwise combimeltas rule, their bolters will do the rest.
It is a very solid list.

unfortunatly i would have to cut points to add any off that, would would you suggest reducing?
As for additional rhinos, once again i would need to reduce points.
Final question, although this is more of a modeling one, heavy flamers don't come with the box of sterngaurd, unless i bought some wierd one. where would i get them?

List looks workable. I like less combi weapons on my sternguard; they are there for the special ammo. Dropping 3 from each squad will give you the camo cloaks.
According to the news and rumor section, GW is going to be putting out a sternguard weapon pack next month, which has one of each combi weapon, a HB, HF, and a pair of lightning claws. Right now I think your options are the LotD marine, or chopping bits off terminators. SoB have some you could probably make work with a little effort. I've not converted any myself, so this is just off the top of my head.

Sounds about right.
Also for whatever reason it only came with 1 combi weapon? is it okay to arm most of a squad with them and have only one model actually holding one?

It would be nice if the basic sternguard box had more combis, but that's life <shrug> From a WYSWYG standpoint, you need to be modeled correctly. Most people don't mind proxies, as long as things are clear. Tournaments might be a little more picky. If only part of the squad have them, you need to be very clear who has what, particularly with wound allocation being what it is these days.
I run a 10 man squad with only one c-melta. Their job is to rapid fire special ammo, not pop tanks. The one melta I run with is an insurance policy, like the power fist on the sarge. Other people field them differently.

You can easily make a Heavy Flamer with some bits from the Land Speeder.
I used the Land Speeder HF and the left hand for the Pilot to make it look as if the Marine is holding the Gun with both hands - similar to how Guardsmen wield their flamers and plasmas.

i was going to run the sterngaurd with about a 50 50 mix of combi flamers and combi meltas.

That is a pretty good idea.
