Is deployment determined by weapon ranges or model base?

Are weapon ranges determined by base or actual weapon?

Can, and have, people modeled something so far off their base that they get extra inches on range?

Dunno what your asking? Tau and a few other armies have a 72" beatstick. Range is non-issue for them in deployment.
You measure from the muzzle of the weapon in question.
Yes, people do do that and its modeling for advantage, TFG mentality.

Only for vehicles.

For any non-vehicle model, it's from the base.

Correct mod is correct. For infantry models, all shots are determined from the base.

Ah okay.

What about with weird jump infantry like putting crisis suits
on flying bases? Same thing?

Vehicles at least have a standard (sort of) footprint.

I ask because I don't play lol

Same thing, though thats a two way street. You do get a good PoV for the model, but it also puts it up over cover which lends to it losing cover saves and the like.

Major rule of thumb.
Everything with a base you measure from it.
Vehicles you measure from weapon just like you check fire archs.

Killing is easy. Being politically correct is a pain in the ass...

FTFY.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
