In other news its great they caught these people. It's a shame that two people (maybe three) had to die before that. There seems to be a lot crazies in the US lately, is there any conversation as to why that might be?

The Shooter at the Sikh Temple never deployed.

If he was he probably would have learned the difference between Sikhs and Muslims.

Didn't the Sikhs kill him where he stood?

Squeaky Fromme also came to mind. It seems when it comes to major assassinations, "crazy" is almost as effective as "money, motive, preparation, and training" insofar as getting an opportunity to do the deed.

Fair point. To reframe the question then - why does it seem more of the crazies are willing to commit violence right now?

And I doubt the Sikh Temple Shooter would have learned the difference even if deployed and if he did, I doubt he would have cared.

Fair point.

And yeah, it is ironic. Most things about the most extreme end of religion are ironic though, particularly the part where they're all pretty much the same.

Maybe more effective. There's a lot less points of potential exposure with a crazy loner working alone, if nothing else.

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”

One thing, isn't luring two people out into the forest with the express purpose of killing them premeditated murder, instead of the manslaughter they're being charged with?

Or is only the guy who's going to testify against his former buddies being charged with manslughter and the rest with murder?

Kind of sad that Bradley manning is lumped in to the same bucket as these jokers.

Also, someone had been watching too much G.I. Joe or James Bond when they came up with the group's name. I mean seriously, F.E.A.R.? What is this, a 1980's Saturday Morning cartoon show villain?
