First time I've posted a finished model in eons, but now I have a new camera, I present my finest work to-date. This model is simply the 25th Anniversary Captain with a simple head-swap, and mounted on a resin base. The base has been painted with a blue jade stone effect, which isn't very clear from the photos, I assure you it looks a lot better in person.



And yes, I know the base has started to come away from the plinth, so don't mention it.







You know it, I know it, the guy who drew the original illustration 25 years ago knew it: the Captain is screaming under his helmet.

Thoughts? I'm very pleased with how it turned out myself, this guy almost became the Brighton entry for the National Hero Contest, very narrowly missing out to an excellently painted Slann Priest.

Looks good, but this model has been such a nightmare for most of us that anything related to it we ignore and look away from....

Very nice. Like the weathering especially.

On a serious note, wow. It looks really, really good. The weathering/mud/dust on the boots looks really well executed, and that face is exceptional.

I like it. Especially the head swap. The original helmet was a bit dull. the face work is good. My only complaint (this has been voiced before) is that there is not text on the scrolls.

Really like the colors; the skin tones on the face, in particular. Nice to see this classic piece.
