Has ANYONE heard ANYTHING about a BRB FAQ? Some of the stuff people are coming up with... really bothers me. Makes the game no fun anymore. Can't a multi-million dollar/pound company afford to put up something on their website for their two month old book with OBVIOUS holes in the rues that would please tens of thousands of their fans?

We're wondering (ie hoping) it gets released alongside dark vengeance. If it doesn't show up by the end of the first week of september, then we should start worrying.

It is really urgent that it is released ASAP, because I agree with the creator of this thread. Some people are interpreting many rules very strangely now and many rules and situations are in need of clarification from GW.

To be honest, those people will twist rules no matter how much they're clarified. We have people that just do that with everything.

I hate saying it, but no matter how much we clarify them, some idiot is still going to try and twist the rules around into his favor. All we can hope for is that the FAQ shuts down more abuses than it opens up new ones.

There are cases when RAI is obvious: Challenge wounds should not overflow, you shouldn't be able to allocate precision shots from challenge, Grounded FMC's should not be considered to be Swooping etc.

Problem is that 6e is so badly written that you don't necessarily know what is RAI.

For example, take Assault Rules. They're so badly written that unless you make some interpretations they break the moment someone brings Unwieldy weapon or charges through cover. Classic case of "Yeah, I see what you mean, but that's not what you actually wrote".

But there is no clear RAW or RAI on how to handle model whose Initiative is lowered during its Pile In, for example if it piles in to model with whip coils or lash whip.

Then there are valid questions about how Reserve counting rules regarding Dedicated Transports rule combined with "units that must start in reserve are not counted" rule.

Our group didn't even consider playing 6e rules RAW.

my biggest problem is the supposed assault vehicle rule

Poorly written rules? Check!
Bizarre abusive interpretations? Check!
Lack of input from system writers? Check!

Welcome to the GW hobby!

Seriously, GW doesn't give a crap about rules beyond an excuse to sell models. For money. Once you realize that GW is in the business of model sales and the rules exist only to further that goal, you'll start to get it.

Calm down, maybe cut back on the Red Bull...

I would hazard a guess that before an FAQ can be released, there would have to be questions being asked frequently to Games Workshop. On an unaffiliated internet forum, our questions don't get polled by GW staffers.

This is a game, people, not a critical job. If you can't figure out how to compromise on a rules question, this may not be the hobby for you.

I don't think 6th is written any worse than any of the previous editions. And there's a lot of good in this rulebook... in general, it's clearer than 4th was.

The problem is largely just that 6th implemented a lot of fairly major changes, without comprehensive updates to the existing codexes. That was always going to cause unforseen issues, as there was no way the FAQ patches were going to catch everything.

From the games that I've played so far, actual rules issues at the table have been rare, and have been resolved no less painlessly than in previous editions.

This is funny. Someone complaining about GW and their errors, and he can't be bothered to fix his. LMFAO.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

QFT as many other people have been posting for months about the crappy rule set.

Adam's Motto: Paint, Create, Play, but above all, have fun. -and for something silly below-

"We are the Ultramodrines, And We Shall Fear No Trolls. bear this USR with pride".

Also, how does one apply to be a member of the Ultramodrines? Are harsh trials involved, ones that would test my faith as a wargamer and resolve as a geek?

You must recite every rule of Dakka Dakka. BACKWARDS.
