Ok, this is probably really, really dumb...but here goes:

If a model is shooting from behind cover (ie, behind a wall, defense line, etc.) towards a unit in the open, does the targeted unit receive a cover save from the shooting unit who is in cover? I'm not talking about a firing model who is completely obscured, but one who has some type of cover that would give him a cover save from the model he is currently shooting at.

If the entire unit is not obscured (as you seem to be implying) then they would not get a cover save. If some of the models are obscured, those models would get a cover save.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

So, here is the scenario I am envisioning: my unit is behind a wall that comes waist high to all of the models in that unit. My opponent's unit is in open ground. So, if they were to shoot at my unit, I would for sure get a cover save as the model is partially obscured. However, if my unit wanted to shoot at the opponents unit, would the opponents unit get a cover save from my unit who is in cover?

Lets put forth another scenario (which might be different from the first, so if anyone has input please answer separately): same as above, except my unit is behind barbed wire that is taller than any of the models. So, the unit is obscured from the opponents unit, but you would also consider the opponents unit obscured from mine, correct?

It depends on true line of sight. If the enemy unit is far enough away, they will not get a cover save from the wall, but as they move up the wall will start to obscure them.

Again you would need to check LOS. If the unit you are firing at is 25% obscured they get a cover save.

You need to look from the eyes of the firing models to see if their is 25% obscurement from the shooter to the target. However, If you are shooting through a Forest and your LOS is drawn through the Forest terrain, then the target gets a cover save.
