First of all I'm just pointing this out, I wouldn't even try this one.
Read the first sentence again.
so under shooting attacks we look at wound pools.
pg 12 the shooting sequence #5
"until all wounds have been resolved"
pg 14 the wound pool
pg 15 emptied wound pool
"when the wound pool is empty, the shooting attack has been completely resolved. You can begin your next shooting attack or ...."
Everywhere you see wound pool in the shooting phase, they all state til the wound pool is empty, and even if you look under "allocate unsaved wounds" where it says "or the whole unit has been removed" it doesn't follow on to say if the unit has been removed to empty the wound pool.
So with this in mind, you unload on your opponents HQ, and if you can kill him and his unit with extra wounds to spare, the game freezes as you can't move on to the next step
wait for time to run out,
You win with 1 or 2 vp's to his none
Again I'd never do this, but should you ever find one of those TFG's that really irk you, then feel free to use it on him

I think common sense pretty much over-rules this one...

I agree with Von Chogg. Attempting to argue this in a tournament setting will probably get anyone laughed off the floor...

Common sense is never in very high supply with the YDMC stalwarts though.

Doesn't it say somewhere if you have no more models in line of sight the wound pool empties?

I am pretty sure that anyone that ever tried to do this would get laughed at, or told to gtfo, and would forfeit the game by not continuing play.
You try this in a tourney and let us know how it turns out for you.

Again, read the first sentence I'd only use it as a counter to another absurd RAW argument.

Yes.
If you destroy a unit, there are no models left in line of sight. The wound pool empties, game goes on.

Nope, at least not that I can find under the shooting phase. Automatically Appended Next Post: rigeld2 wrote: RFHolloway wrote:Doesn't it say somewhere if you have no more models in line of sight the wound pool empties?

I think you will find what you are referring to is not a lack of common sense, but an acceptance that there's really no value to discussing anything other than RAW at length generally.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
