Hi all,

Wondered what you make of Yriel using his eye of wrath in a challenge. Because it's a blast, do the other guys in the combat get spanked? Or just the challenged dude? Post! Argue! Debate! Long live the Eldar!

Seems pretty simple. You can't allocate against anyone not in the challenge. So it just gets Yriel a auto-hit S6/AP3 hit against the other guy in the challenge.

You cannot allocate wounds against anyone else. Wouldn't that mean that all the wounds are allocated against the Chalangee?

Outside Forces
Whilst the challenge is ongoing,only the challenger and
challengee can strike blows against one another. Wounds
from other attackers cannot be allocated against either character
- simply resolve the Wound allocation step as if the two
characters werenot there.Of course, this meansa unit fighting
an enemy unit consisting of only a single character model, such
as Daemon Prince, will not be able to strike blows at all if that
Daemon Prince is in a challenge.

It seems that they cannot strike blows against other models as well. So those other hits would be lost.

Btw, wouldn't Yriel auto-hit himself as well?

Yriel's bomb isn't a close combat attack, it's used instead of making a close combat attack. It doesn't hit himself since it says it doesn't. It specifically says that any models under the marker is hit - this actually includes friendly models, you know!

So your answer to my question is? Yriel is a friendly model but I'm assuming the rule itself says that Yriel cannot be hit by the attack. I don't have my Eldar Codex on hand, cheers.

It's hits everyone under the blast except Yriel.

Normally yes it would hit Yriel too, but he has a specific exception to that listed in his codex.
