I'm sorry, but perhaps you have had an idea I haven't had? Could you please elaborate for me a few of the tons of ways in which I can get around the work schedule conflict? I would be extremely grateful. If it works without major flaw, I can even see about getting you a discount code as a thank you. I am sincerely sorry that you believe only offering Priority Mail at the cost of what the packing materials and postage cost me is bad customer service. It had never occurred to me that that was the case. I will do my best to give a cheaper option.
.

Snarkey comments are not needed first of all and secondly I am more then happy to share my experience as owning my own business and having run a successful ebay business in the past I know the annoyance of shipping all to well. Their are first off a number of ways to deal with shipping (btw this can work for anyone) but most importantly for starters this all depends on you being a Legit business entity. If you are not then your just a home grown caster and it gives little for people to honestly trust you as we have seen so many in the past burn people, it also gives the buyer some comfort as they know they can take action should they get screwed over.

-Set up a business account with USPS.com. This can take some time if you don't stay on top of it so just be ready for it to take up to 30 days.
-Once set up you can go into this and print normal shipping labels from your home to inculde specially made ones with customs forms already on them. Normal small weight customs forms cover up to 4lbs so you have some wiggle room with them. A normal shipment of 6oz to say Australia is only $3 and some odd in change, and less to Europe. Canada is in the $2 bracket and will arrive in less then 2 weeks max. Australia is 3 weeks max but on a rare drop it can go up to 30 days.
-DO NOT SHIP TO SPAIN!!!! I can't stress this enough and that comes from not only me but several friends companys. I hate to be blunt but the Spanish people will screw you over more times then you can imagine. If you want more details PM me and I will tell you.
-Once everything is set up then you can actually set up a timed request for pick up of a group of orders. The postal system is working to fix their money issues and is more then happy to accomadate your business believe me. I spent upwards of $4k a month in shipping and everyone there knows me by name. Also if you have everything printed out and already paid for with labels you can actually just drive up to the back ring a bell and they will take it for you from there. In and out in 3 minutes!!!!
-If you have issues taking your lunch break to drop off orders then let people know you only ship once a week. Get up early on a Saturday and be there when they open at 8am. You are asking people to trust you with their hard earned money and having a unique product isn't near enough in this market. Companies don't succed by just having the product they need to have the service too and sometimes that means sacrifice. I have had to miss weddings, birthdays and so much more just to main my business but it's worth it in the long run.
-Finally I cannot stress this enough but GET AWAY FROM PAYPAL!!!! It's ok to use in the start but the fees are stupidly high and they will screw you faster then you can believe. Set up with a creditcard purchaser as often the fees are lower and your more protected. Merchant Warehouse is a great company and will work with you to get set up and have a top notch customer service team.
-In the end it comes down to you, do you want to be a hobbyist or a business because the later is the only way you will grow your product and this means sacrifice. When I first started I sat down on the phone with Mike Clark , showcase comics, for 3 hours and he helped me lay out everything and get the lay of the land. When I branched into bits (where my money is now) I looked at other companies and spoke with Jeff Wilhelm at Dragonforge for a long while as he knew that part of the industry well. At this point I have solid clients that I speak with regularly and they know that when they place an order they are a priority and that's what you need to make them. Your not competing against yourself your playing against companys that have been around for years and if you want to grow then you have to be prepared. I hope this helps you a bit and again if you have any questions feel free to ask. I have a great relationship with a lot of small and large companys and a mountain of knowledge from it. You have a good product and I love seeing new people come into this market.

I'd love to do that, but I can't figure out how to do it with the generic (IE: free) paypal cart. Once I get a new shopping cart system that is definitely the plan though.

how about a "order 9 heads, 9 torsos and 9 pairs of legs and clarify in the comments which 10th of each bit (in case of variants) you'd like to get included "free"" kind of system? easy enough discount, everyone who knows about it should be able to use it and it works for now (assuming you'd offer a 10% discount of course).

Wow, Empchild, you just went above and beyond in dispensing that information. I hope they can benefit from it.

I know we want to eventually branch into internet sales (totally different market though) but some of this could be very useful.

*UPDATE*

Thanks to Col. Gravis' help, we now have a new, improved website! We can also now offer cheaper $5 international shipping on orders of $30 or less!

The original web site address and store at www.meowmeowminis.com has been replaced with the new web site now.

If you ordered something $30 or less through the old store and would like to change your shipping option to the new cheaper, slower international shipping - e-mail me at meowmeowminis@gmail.com and let me know - I will gladly refund you the difference in shipping and change your shipping option

This is truely a godsent. Plastic sisters. (Though mine will be slaanesh used as noise marines, but i digress).

Only thing I would like to see right now is a package set of 5 legs+5heads+5 torsos. In singles thats 20$ Could even do a discount for that package for 18 or something. But it would make buying a lot quicker to buy those in sets of 5.

Also how well to "male heroic futureistic" arms scale with your female bodies? will they look huge or will you be releasing them?

It can work for anyone, at the height of my Ebay I did 6000 auctions a month.. at least I lost count there so I am well versed with the postal system. Good new site and for a shopping cart their are a couple of good choices some easier then others to work. I have found that Avactis.com has the easiest to work and is in a great price range. My web guy origonally had me use Zen Cart and that honest was just a horrible system. Very impractical and annoying to add/remove from, go play around on that website as they have an admin log in you can do. Glad to see you got a new and improved site so fast and gl I hope the info helps as it works for anyone wanting to start their own business for well.. anything.

Well, they are resin (To be precise, Smooth-Sil 310 with smooth-on black dye, cast at 90psi so that they are very dense and less prone to warping than resin cast at a lower PSI. If you'd like, I can link you to the MSDS on the material)

I'm looking into setting up a package deal. I'd love to be able to offer a small discount like that, but I'm still learning the new cart system

Hopefully most of your compatibility questions will be answered by these images:

And for completeness' sake:

All these images are in the gallery and can be viewed at pretty high res I believe.

Yes, they are 28mm alternative futuristic male arms from the company Anvil Industries. Other, larger companies do not give photographic permission to small Indy companies.

BTW everyone, I just added a 5-girl Chevaliers kit option to the new store. If you buy a kit of heads, torsos, and legs you get a $2 discount. If you also buy the shoulder pads, you get a total $5 discount.

I'll be including some freebies in the orders that have already been made which would have qualified for this discount.

That'd be why the picture says "Copyright Anvil Industry", yes

$5 international is much, much more reasonable. Once the range expands a bit I'll almost certainly make an order

So you know, the $5 international shipping charge is only for orders of $30 or less until we have a bit more of an operational budget to absorb 'breakage' costs. I'll remove the restriction once I'm able to do so.

Thanks again to Col. Gravis for pointing me in the direction of the new shopping cart system

Thanks!

If you decide to get an army's worth, please shoot me an e-mail with an estimate on how many kits you'd need. If you do, I can do some math and see if I can use my snazzy new cart system (Have I mentioned I love the new cart system?) to set up a bulk discount for you

I also hate to smear entire countries with an unpleasant brush, but to expand upon Empchild's excellent advice, I have seen a ton of ebay bitz auctions explictly exclude Italy as well as Spain. The common reason given for Italy was, verbatim "Sorry, we don't ship to Italy. The postal service has problems beyond the norm".

I have ordered from her previously, and the speed, professionalism, and quality was top tier. I cannot recommend these guys enough.

I'd have to echo my sentiment that these kits badly need arm sculpts. Regular Marines look like gorillas with the standard arms. This look is exacerbated on the female miniatures given that everything is scaled down for them to have a feminine look.

Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?

RTB-01 arms work pretty well as long as you shorten the forearm a smidge.

I agree. I had my not-Commissar arrive last week and it looks pretty darn good. There is a lot of flash and clean up work needed, but for $10 it is a solid figure. I planned on posting pictures when I get around to cleaning it up and figuring out what sort of weapons I want to give the miniature.
