7 Ork facts people always get wrong: Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other. A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot. Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests. Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books. Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor. Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers. Orks do not have the power of believe.

The M113 is obviously much more a Warhammer Rhino. I think the idea of the thread was the fact that the bus in the OP is actually called a Rhino.

1918 called, said something about Rhinos not being as good as a Land... Raider... think it was something like that. Silly name really.
1915 also wanted to talk about Little Willie, but it sounded a bit suspicious so I decided to pretend my time phone was messing up.
Oh 1910s also said land ships are overdone.
What would impress me.... would be a real Leman Russ tank or Baneblade.

ya, pretty much this. The M113 has had a bunch of names before including green dragon, buckets, zeldas, tracks but was not named rhino. Here's one that's actually named a Rhino and looks very close to one.
The 1918 tanks weren't called land raiders as far as I am aware and were credited with inventing the word "tank" otherwise they were just known as Mark V's

I know, just pointing out the obvious. They were termed land ships but named tanks to try and keep a bit of secrecy to it. I think I remember reading the name tank coming from workers comparing it to a water tank or something; during development of the Mk 1.

The name tank was used because during development the British purposely misled everyone by calling them water tanks, and told the public they were going to be used to transport fresh water to the front line, when in actuality they were awesome death dealing boxes of doom. Interestingly enough the military does this all the time, esp with planes. I wouldn't be surprised if that robot suit they are building to reload bombs on jets is going to become terminator armor soon!

I believe n0t_u is correct. The term 'Landship' comes from a story by H.G. Wells, so the idea existed before any tanks were even being considered for construction. Tank would make sense as a codename of sorts, because everyone would know what a "Landship' was, but 'Tanks' could be anything. Also, first time I saw the Rhino, the M113 was the first thing that came to mind. They even made a variant with a turret, and my first thought was 'Predator!', though obviously they are in two different leagues.
And as for this new 'Rhino Runner', truly a METAL BAWKS
Seems that many ww1 tanks looked like SM land raider.
British Mark IV
A bit off topic, but the tank in the 3rd indiana jones movie reminds me somewhat of the leman russ. It had all the sponsons and such.
Couldn't find a proper picture though.

That tank in the Indiana Johnes movie was a MKIV, male version.
There were 2 versions of the MKIV. Male and Female.
The Male had the 2 sponsons with cannons in them and the Female had a bunch of Machine Guns(and a modest transport capacity too IIRC)

Most IG (and many SM) vehicles are inspired from real-life counterparts as they look like a childish/over-the-top version of them.
-Land Raider: Original British Mark IV tank
-Leman Russ: French Char B1
-Predator: British FV107 Scimitar
-Chimera: Soviet BMP
-Rhino: M113
-Basilisk: German Hummel
-Medusa: German Gamma Morser
-Vindicator: German Sturmtiger
-Hydra: Gepard with 2 extra guns
-Salamander: British Universal Carrier
-Cyclops demolition vehicle: German Goliath
-Praetor Armored Assault Launcher bares a subtle resemblance to the M270 MLRS, though not as striking a similarity as the others.
Super-Heavy's are more or less original designs though, because no nation would design something so stupid or ridiculous IRL. Though the French/Soviets had loose "super heavy tank" concepts in the interwar period which more or less did nothing in WW2.
