Just wondering in general really, has anybody ever tried to use or seen Epic 40k or Aeronautica Imperialis models converted for use as 40k models? I've started a new Eldar army and the thought occured to me when considering the price of things like Wraithguard compared with that of of Epic Revenant Titans which seem to be a similar size. I also thought attaching an eldar pilot and driver controls to an Aeronatica Vampire Hunter might create an interesting Vyper model. Thoughts?

I think you would be better off building complete 40k armies from Epic models, scaling your table area down and playing 40k with them...

I think it would be to small, personally. It's profile too low. Plus there's all that detail that is obviously to scale, like the cockpit, that would have to be removed. Trying to use that model to house a 40k scaled mini as a pilot would be very challenging. I suppose you could make it into some sort of skyboard thing, but that's already Dark Eldar's territory, right?

Yeah i'd never truly checked the scale of them side by side it was just an idea that crossed my mind, I'm more interesting in any people had actually done or seen as I've only ever heard about it on forums.

I recall seeing someone on the internet who made some legio cybernetica robots from epic scale titans. I have also considered appropriating some epic scale titan weapons to fill out the arsenal of my Mk IX dreads.

I've seen Phantom Titans used as Wraithlords, and you used to see the occasional Warlord as a Marine or Chaos Dreadnought.

Never seen them as direct stand-ins, but I've seen some of the models used in conversions - Epic titans with GS robes used as troops in AdMech armies, tiny Landraiders used as tracked platforms to replace the legs of cybork Nobs or radical Techpriests/Inquisitors, etc.
