It introduced a control scheme for consoles that finally made some damn sense. From there first person shooters become a console thing.

Halo is obviously a superior game in every gameplay respect, however Wolfenstein 3D is far more important insofar as the evolution of the industry. What you're effectively doing here is comparing Link Wray, who "invented" the power chord, to Pete Townsend, who goddamn mastered it
GoldenEye was my first memory of a games console. Loved it. I picked Halo because it is the only one I have played properly. Had played a Wolfenstein demo but didn't enjoy it as much.

I don't understand either why everyone keeps saying Master Chief is the most badass Game Character ever.
He's not. I can think of several characters who are more badass and are overall more impressive than that poor man's Spesse Mahrine

All these people saying Goldeneye haven't played it since it was the big thing. Going back and playing that game is a goddamn nightmare; the controls for shooters have changed so much that it's pretty much impossible to go back. It was amazing at the time, but it's somehow more dated than Wolfenstein 3D.
if I had the choice to play either Halo 1 or Wolf3D right this moment it would probably be Halo for me, but they're two very different games from two very different times. You can't really compare them.

Unless you change its control scheme; a facet that no modern shooter allows. And although I haven't played the game recently, the last time I played GoldenEye was bout 3 years ago, and I still think it holds the title of the best video game ever made.
No way, Golden Eye was a great game for its time, but the controls are fething infuriating. Its dated. And I too want to know, is the OP talking about the original Wolfenstien 3D or that remake from a few years ago
