Hi everybody (I'm very excited for this is my first thread)!
I'm an ork player but i like many armies in 40k, even ultrasmurfs (altough a don't like the perfect history of them) mainly just beacuse of the blue (and the looks of Calgar)

one character i really like is sergeant Torias Telion, i just like the "I'm a veteran but prefer to stay a low rank warrior" style
after reading through the fluff and listening to the audiodrama "Eye of vengeance" i couldn't resist the thought that maybe - and bear with me- Telion has the Obliterator virus. I know it sound silly but as I read stage 2: "The carrier now finds themselves to be more at home with weapons, his aim increases and the gun sits more naturally in his hands." I think it would be really awesome if he wouldn't even know he carries the virus and even maybe infects the scouts that years later show the symptoms of stage 3-4 etc. would make Telion a much more interesting character.

what are Your thoughts?

Ps. sorry for my lazy english I'm from Hungary

An awesome idea that I would love to see in model format...Tellion and a squad of scout snipers formed into obliterators

Probably not true though, Tellion has been about for so long he would of left stage two a long time ago.

Would make for an interesting bit of fluff though if he contracted the virus but found a way to halt its progress (or slow it down) at stage 2
Although the inquisitors would more than likely just shoot him on sight

There are people that can carry sicknesses but be immune to their effects. Imagine if Tellion is such a person and doesn't even know he is a carrier?

Interesting theory, and would provide a nice grimdark story.

I personally just like to think he's just that damn good a shot.

Seems rather cool.

Stupid idea, IMO. If he had the Obliterator Virus it would have been detected by the Apothecaries or he would have morphed into an Obliterator.

Yeah it has a big weakspot: he gets injured on battlefield and gets medical care and such a virus would probably be detected... but i think it would be very ironic if the best scout sergeant would be possessed by the virus and chaos could corrupt marines in early stages

and there's the question if Telion is so damn good without the virus how deadly would he be as a renegade Telion with the virus... he could shoot someone on Planet X from Planet Y

I have to admit the whole concept came to me after reading through the marine codex and trying to give a few characters some imperfections.

I do wonder what the Obliterator virus would have to do with Telion's sniping abilities though. Sure, the virus makes a marine 'one with the gun', but that's because the virus makes you spawn guns from your arms. And seeing as these are usually really big mofo of a gun (i.e., multi-melta, lascannon, etc.), sniping accuracy and precision has got nothing to do with it.

maybe make every gun he uses a lance weapon?
and of course tweak the range of the weapons a bit

multi-melta with 36" range and lance OMG even land raiders would run away like little girls
