Since the discussion about MSS and activation of Force Weapons was quite interesting I would believe that it would be valid to as people to discuss if a weapon with the Blind special rule could be used with MSS. The unique thing about blind is that it states in the BRB: "Should the attacking unit hit themselves) we assume they are prepared and they automatically pass the test."
In some point I believe this to be interesting since many of the pro side in the prior discussion believed that the model affexted by MSS was in the necon players control and would be able to benefit even from rules stating otherwise. How would you rule this?

It is not in control, It mearly strikes its own unit. MSS makes you in control of an enemy model just as much as Kharn the Betrayer rolling a 1 on hit to-hit dice. Just because you are striking your own unit dosent mean you aren't in control of it. MSS says nothing about taking control of an enemy model.

n0t_u: No, but six can shoot out of it. Other than that it's a Rhino with a Heavy Flamer thrown on if I remember correctly.

Not that i expect it'll come up much, but the 'Blind' USR indicates: "...Should the attacking unit hit themselves, we assume they are prepared and they automatically pass the test."
and MSS states: "...he inflicts D3 hits on his own unit (or himself, if on his own or in a challenge)..."
Seems pretty clear that the model cannot 'hit' themselves with the Blind USR to me, by RAW.

Specifically, it sounds to me like Blind does hit the unit, but it has no effect.

Based on that I would say, if he is not in a challenge and he hits his unit, they can be blinded, if he is in a challenge (and thus hits himself) he automatically passes the blind tes.

The Character, weather he is in a challenge or not, is still a part of the unit, so hitting themselves still counts if the character hits his own unit.
They have hit themselves in this instance.

From what i can see it looks like the Blind weapon would still hit, but have no effect on the unit.
All MSS is force the model to attack hsi own team. As far as i understadn, the model remains under the control of the owning player, so they should be able to choose what weapons to use (if they have a choice via multiple special weaposn for example) as well.

No, the necron player gets to chose what weapons are used if there is a choice. I believe this is where the problem of mss and force weapons came from. But yes i agree the model stays under the owning players control.

Also regarding force weapons and MSS? the newly released Necron FAQ update is very clear:
"Q: If mindshackle scarabs are used against a model with a force weapon or a weapon which allows the wielder to inflict Instant Death with a successful Leadership test, can the Necron player force the enemy model to utilise this ability? (p81)
A: Yes."
It explicitly mentions a 'Force' weapon by name, despite the fact that no reference to the Force USR is found in the Necron codex.

Yes they do. And sometimes. (just sometimes...) they clarify something that was already a rule, but for whatever reason was not spelled out clearly enough for slightly more than 50% of people to interpret properly?
We may never know...

Yes, and in the case of the MSS the FAQ is a rules change.
But all is good, my psykers never have a warp charge to spend anyway.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

How nice for you, I have some unindependantly verifiable opinions too! That said: my psykers are your psykers. (These days i play more gray knights than i do, 'crons; i find their (knights) versatility and the sheer number of options available to them to be fairly refreshing. That and Coteaz is just awesome, as are Dreadknights.)

If im not mistaken, unless you are using warp charges during my turn 50% of the time you do in fact have warp charges to be used.

I am in fact using warp charges in my opponents turn.
I always cast Unleashed Rage, so I never have a warp charge available.
At least when I am playing against crons I have Unleashed Rage.
