Hi, I'm looking to jump on the chaos wagon, currently collecting nids, but i don't base them, and really its simply because I've never learnt how too.
So, i think I'll be going for a nurgle or khrone theme. not that i guess it makes too much difference but i was looking for a simple step by step of how to tackle it?
as far as I'm aware you PVA the base and throw stuff on it. correct?

Cheers

After gluing the miniature down, put PVA glue on the base, water it down if you need to make it flow. Then dip the base in basing grit/sand or whatever you'd like and wait for it to dry - this can take hours! If you want to add extra details like rocks (bits of cork) debris, skulls, shell casings, or what have you, you can just superglue them on afterward. The basing grit/sand can be drybrushed a few times after priming and any other details are up to you.

Hobbycraft do packs of self-adhesive hemispheres.
Each pack comes with multiple sizes.
I'm going to use them to create bubbles on my bases (I'm a nurgle player too.)

Check out my gallery here
Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

You are better off using green stuff to make different sized and misshaped bubbles.

Dont forget, if you want your figures to look like they are standing on top of the dirt/debris, you may have to raise their feet up a little bit with small pieces of plasticard. Otherwise it might look like they are sinking into the dirt.
