I'm addicted to this series since it came out.

My favorite was RE4 with the Wii... especially the Mercenary stage.

Heh... Mech Warrior is that only reason why I bought a computer back then... all my friends would come over and monopolize that PC because of that... I'm sure I still have all the games/manual collecting dust somehere .

Now... Diablo is sucking my gaming time... hard game... grrr.

I know number 5 caused a storm of angry keyboard clattering for some reason, but beyond that I know feth all about Resident Evil.

Same here. I'm keeping an eye on it, but not getting my hope up

I hope it returns to the horror that the series is supposed to be about. RE4 had the right balance of horror and action (Regenerators will make you cry for your mother) but RE5 was all Michael Bay-esque action and boulder punching. That and you had a co-op partner with you the whole time, effectively ruining any sort of tension in the game. Games aren't scary when you're goofing off with your buddy, which is also the unfortunate direction they're going with Dead Space 3. That's not horror, that's a buddy cop movie.

Looks like the game has different campaigns for various characters, each of which I suspect will have a different style to its counterparts.

RE4 Mercenaries, Stage 2 was the best thing ever.
RE5 has some pretty good mercenary levels. They seem to be harder.

Played the demo I thought it looked really really bad my favorite was RE4 on the playstation 2 I also have played every game but after playing resident evil 6 demo I had no faith for the game

IGNORE THE REVIEWS...there's so much bias out there it isn't even funny! Some scores were purposely low because of how some reviewers hate Capcom. Yeah their practices suck, but that has nothing to do with the game. Others are jumping on the bandwagon that Japan can't make games anymore and the West is suddenly retconned to have always made great games. Clearly not the case, unless all you play are bro-tastic FPSs. As a longtime fan since RE 1, I love this game! The Mercenaries mode alone is crack rock icing on the cake, and feels like a whole other game added on top. It is a bit on the action heavy side...but then again if you were Chris and had survived all of these B.O.W.s, wouldn't you carry a platoon's worth of weaponry with you? THIS IS A GREAT GAME...so go play it! If you don't want to sink don't the cash right away there is a demo, so what have you got to lose?

Well to be fair, I actually prefer western stuff over eastern stuff but ya I planned on ignoring the reviews anyways

I ignore reviews because all that they ever say is ZOMG CALL OF DUTY IS THE EPICSAUCE!!!!!11!1!!111ONE!!!. And slag off everything else.

The "Japan can't make games" bandwagon are saying so for a similar reason: basically, the Japanese don't like generic military "realistic" FPSs. And because all that the West is interested in these days is just that...
