So here's something totally not predictable and common in the least now that GW's pumped out a wall of cheap bikers.

I've been wanting a bike army for a while, and since it's going to cost a fortune and take me a few months to build my Speed Freek army list, i've decided to put together a low cost ravenwing army. about 2/3 of it will be made out of the new mini's, though i'll be using the existing range and a few attack bikers here and there to pad out the list. I'm not sure i'm going to be using sammeal, i may end up doing an older version of the army with a different captain using the White Scar captain (and i can access some point wise cheaper bikers and possibly a flyer) but that's for further down the line. For now i've build 6 bikers, got a fairly cheap metal biker chaplain from e-bay and built a plastic librarian. Here's the first few models;

and my pysker biker;

This log won't be seeing much action until november, i'm just placing this down as a start in case i find myself needing a break from painting/building my ork tournie force. I am looking forwards to building this, perhaps a long side my Adeptus mechanicus army sitting on my top shelf waiting for my ork's to get finished.

Ah well, Until i next update!

That librarium conversion works really well. How difficult was that to pull off? I haven't had a chance to see the models up close yet so kinda curious. Look forward to your painting updates!

It's pretty much cut and stick, all you really need to do is cut off the shoulder pad and cut him in half. After that it's plain sailing,

Update time, i have got a group shot to show. I've been picking up old bits and kits to modify and change, as well as a few simple swaps. I've used the normal SGT from the DV kit to get a second robed biker without using the same generic kit. Personally, i think it's a great success. The bolt pistol marines are a bit samey, but i've done some chop and cuts to add a few with chainswords to add a bit of veriety, as well as two melta-marines

As always i continue on modifying and editting until i am satisfied, so expect more work on these guys before long.

So it's been many many months since i picked up this force, but as i need a unit of bikers for an upcoming game and i don't fancy buying or building new ones i'm going to paint up my existing models! A few quick modifications using a normal marines spure and some metal attack bike bits i got off ebay with a bike chaplain parts and an old school speeder for about a tenner. I do love these models, the new bikes fit the old 'clip on' metal bike designs perfectly, god love GW's unimagination!

They are my next testing ground for airbrush painting so wish me luck.

Bikes, bikes and more bikes do you have enough yet? They all look good so far, apart from the power fist on the captain that sticks out at right angles to the model, not a great fan, only beacuse it looks a little unnatural, other than that looking forward to seeing more
