according to SW FAQ page 2 "psycic powers"
...If he does so,
generate two new powers from the Biomancy, Divination or
Telekinesis disciplines (in any combination) before armies are
deployed.
does that mean that I dont need to have both powers within the same discipline? can choose one power from Biomancy and one power from Divination?

The posters who say you can pick any two in any combination have the right of it; though i'd 'strongly' recommend staying with the codex powers. (They are likely to be much more useful to you as a spacewolves player. )

There are only three powers worth talking about in the SW codex and two of them are epic, the third is good.
Living lightning is great for taking out armour and tough monsters.
JOTWW is epic at killing necrons and a few other things.
Murderous hurrican is good, it messes up horde units.

yeah about that, I played necrons and he argued that he could come back from JOTWW even with his regular troops, is this true? in that case it isnt much of a epic power because he just came back and shot me.

I don't think so because the model is removed completely. There are no wounds or the like. I don't have applicable text in front of me but that is my thoughts on the matter.

Being removed gets past Eternal Warrior, but it doesn't do anything about Reanimation Protocols, since the counter can still be placed. For a very close example, consider "The Last Laugh", where the FAQ allows Reanimation Protocols despite the fact that the model is supposedly perfectly fine but stuck in a stasis field!

Last Laugh removes from play as a casualty. JotWW just removes from play.
Note the difference, and note what RP allows.

Rigeld hit the nail on the head in this one, there is a word missing from JoTWW which makes it deadly to necrons that word is (casualty).
Read up on RP and you'll notice that word pops up again, so therefore if you werent removed as a casualty than it doesnt take effect.
Just realized this thread is for disciplines.
I normally run 2-3 psykers, used to incorporate LL and such but now I want to try Diviniation w/ prescience to TL my Longfang squads.

I don't want to hijack (much), but if you are interested in Divination for LFs there is no "try". Just do it. ; )

Jaws says they're dead, which is a subset of casualty.

How can removed from play be a subset of removed from play [add any qualifier here]?

Took me a minute to parse what you're even asking, there. Context. "Removed from play due to falling to their deaths" is a subset of "removed from play as a casualty", on account of the fact that "falling to their deaths" is a subset of "casualty".
Yeah, I'm reading into the rule and taking it at its word instead of blindly parsing keywords, but you know what? I've never seen any evidence that GW is into blindly parsing keywords, either. If they don't write their rules that way, I'm not going to read them that way.

Jaws says nothing about them being dead, it just says that they are removed from play.
RFP and RFPAAC is always a hard squard to circle, at this stage I think JOTWW is the last thing that hasn't been changed to RFPAAC or equated to it.
RAW it is not a kick off point for EL or RP since nothing is removed as a casualty.

Yes in particular to the point of the A) being dead, or B) removed as Casualties

My "prescience" is better. It doesn't require LOS so my Farseer can hide in his transport like a good Eldar.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.

haha. I have a necron player that said the same thing to me, HOWEVER.
The rule for necrons is that to come back they must be a casualty, and then rezzed at the end of the phase that they died.
A casualty is when a unit goes from a number of wounds (In this case 1) To zero, and then removed for the phase
JOTWW does NOT take in casualties because it is an INSTANT DEATH power. The model is removed from the table if they fail their initiative test. (Necron its 3,4,5,6 failure..) This also works on HQs that have REZ orbs, they cannot take their rolls because they didn't die from a casualty. This also works through the "Eternal Warrior" rule, because it removed the model.
....
Yeah..Its PRETTY GOOD.

You have to be careful with your wording as saying it's an INSTANT DEATH power, is actually incorrect. It removes them from play.
