Surprised this one hasnt been posted sooner...(though it is an RP game, not a tabletop I suppose)

Anyways theres a big thread on the Wyrd Miniature forum about the upcoming Malifaux RPG. Just though it would be good to have a heads up

The Coming Malifaux RPG Kickstarter

As the title implies, the Kickstarter for Malifaux RPG is on it's way! We're extremely excited about how the project is going and this will serve as a boost to both speed the RPG into your hands, but also get you involved earlier.

One of the absolute best things about Kickstarter is our ability to get all of you involved in a project like this at a point that the community can in many ways have a significant impact on the final results. And that is a big reason I'm writing to you all now! Reaching out before the kickstarter is even up helps me even further tailor it to exactly what you might want!

My question to you: What do you want to see included in the kickstarter?

What I mean is what type of special rewards do you want to see available? Obviously you will have the chance to pick up the RPG books through it and other retail associated retail materials, but what else? We've of course come up with a ton ideas, but we don't want to leave out YOUR ideas. So let us know!!

Well, there were rumblings of this before, but I'm glad it's confirmed, and interested that it's kickstarter. (I guess the orphanage project was a test?)

I know what my next chunk of disposable income will be for, esp. if there's some limited edition swag.

But a mini-game like Sedition Wars or Zombicide is?

Either way, RPG's seem to be doing quite well on Kickstarter if they have some name to fly. Numenera just hit 300K.

A lot of people that identify themselves more as 'role players' than miniatures gamers would disagree... One of the good things about a lot of RPGs is that even if the system is poor, they can be great background/fluff books. I think the 40k RPGs do this: there's a lot more about Imperial culture and common citizens in them than there is in the main 40k rulebooks and codices, at least the current stuff.

Agreed! If the setting rocks the rules could be gak for all I care. I mostly buy these books for the fluff, not the crunch.

Hmm. I've steered clear of RPGs for the last few years, but I might make an exception in this case, particularly if they offer some exclusive figures among the stretch goals as an inducement.

I think an RPG in the Malifaux universe would be interesting.

I would hope that theyre were some rules for making your own characters and faction crews, as well.

Biggest issue that I had with the minis game is that it is almost Generic, in the use of thier respective "Stars" per the factions. They are all the same in factions, and there are no individual personalized guys that you can use and make up your own starter crews.

I would really like to see more about this. I am very interested.

An RPG without the option to create your own characters is in my eyes pretty weak. I'd rather go to town with a character of my own instead of a pre-made or established creation.

So in our continuing efforts to get YOU all involved in the development process of the Malifaux RPG, we are please to announce our first in a series of design contests! This one is for the Logo!
The title for the Malifaux RPG is officially "Through the Breach"
For this contest you all have 2 weeks (ending Sept 24th at midnight PST) to design a logo and post it in this thread. In doing so you are granting us the right to choose and use this logo as either the official logo for the game, or a alt logo for select materials. If we do choose your submission you will of course be compensated for your work and full credit given in the the books.
Please post no greater than 450 pixel wide jpg/gif/png files in this thread, but please be prepared to with either .eps files or 4500 pixel wide files if we choose your logo, as that is what we'd need at minimum for print.

Once we have all the submissions we will take nominations from you all and have a vote to figure out the forums favorite logo. Then we will put it in the running with the logos being developed from our artists before we make our final decision. The final logo will be revealed in the Kickstarter!
