Hey guys,

First of all, sorry if something similar has been posted before, but even through the "search" option of the forum, I couldn't find the answer to my question.

As here in Switzerland it's really hard to get IA books, I would like to know if someone has a list of units from FW/IA we can use in a regular Ork army?
I don't ask for the stats, but really the "40k approved" units.

For instance, I really would love to try my Squiggoth. Autorized or not?

Thank you very much for your clarification and help!

Technically, all IA units that aren't APOC units are fine for use in regular 40K play.

However, many people refuse to play against FW units, for a variety of reasons.

I'd ask your local group if they are OK with FW units.

The Viletide: Daemons of Nurgle/Deathguard: 7400 pts
Disclples of the Dragon - Ad Mech - about 2000 pts
GSC - about 2000 Pts
Rhulic Mercs - um...many...
Circle Oroboros - 300 Pts or so
Menoth - 300+ pts

The ForgeWorld Ork Flakk Gun plus GW resin Ork Barricades makes a very Orky Aegis Defense Line with Quad Gun - no extra rules (or permission) required.

If you mean "official" as in "can I use it", then yes, there are many official ork units. Everything other than the obvious Apocalypse-only stuff (superheavies, formations) is a GW product and intended for use in standard 40k. Your opponents can be WAAC TFGs and refuse to let you use it, but they could also be WAAC TFGs and refuse to play against you if you bring units of more than 10 boyz.

If you mean "official" as in "an official list of units", then no, there isn't an official list of everything. There used to be one in the back of the IA:Apocalypse books but they haven't published a new one in years, and the old one is missing a lot of stuff. Your best bet is to look at the table of contents for IA8, IA:Aeronautica, and both IA:Apocalypse books and see what's in the ork section.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

The ork list in IA:8 is interesting, and worth picking up. I haven't tried using the list since the new edition, though, so I'm not really sure how it will work with the edition change.

I wonder why I never see Zhadsnark or Mek Boss Buzzgob in the army lists. I think they are better than the characters in the codex actually. Don’t you think?

I really love the concept of Ork Dread Mob. Could be the new orientation of my army

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

Now we are talking!

Any idea of how does a Mekboy Junka look like?
A mix of a Trukk and a Big Trakk?

The FW model was a rhino with a deff rolla, a huge gas turbine for an engine and a funky turret. Basically anything roughly rhino sized should do.
