I'm actually more curious if we'll see other alien army lists.

I'd love to see that freaky sound race myself, as well as the ones that actually resisted chaos entirely.

So the question for me is:

We know they are making primarchs and inevitably they will make Horus, so if thats the case what happens about the siege of terra? and will they make... im going to say it... The Emperor?

How can they not
But it will be one of the last figures they make probally 3 years away at least.

Oh man! Now I have to decide which pre heresy legion to do. Or I could do small parts of multiple legions .

Space Marines, Orks, Imperial Guard, Chaos, Tau, Necrons, Germans (LW), Protectorate of Menoth

I wish they started the heresy series further back, to proper "pre-heresy" era, and worked up to and then thru the heresy.. It would be nice to be able to field a completely untarnished force in all the legions glory before the fall... And perhaps a before and after Horus?

Snake-eyes, everybody wins!! Oh, no, wait, my bad.. Oops..

Oooh tasty! 3 jetbikes for £70, not bad at all, especially when you consider the price of sammael.

*gulp*, I hope they make those Jetbikes multi-wound monstrosities. Failing a 3+ save and removing a 35 dollar model one at a time will hurt.

It isn't just you.

And if that translates across to $100+ US, I might have to think twice about getting it - ouch!

That isn't bad compared to the other IA books. some of those are 55 and 52 pounds. 70 for leather bound really isn't bad. Just a little high but not horrible compared to the other ones.

Those are the most rediculous jet bikes ive ever seen. They are flying sex toys..... Will not be buying. How has no one mentioned this yet? They look like phallus's? Phallusii? Phalluses? I don't know the plural of phallus....

Everything else though looks good.

The faux leather certainly isn't a selling point.

Dropping that to bring the price to a 'more reasonable' £50, give or take, would make a lot of sense.

Perhaps we're a victim of our own success?

We've been saying for a long time that Horus Heresy models and rules would make GW a mint.

Their going to take us up on that now...

I approve of this idea!

I've said before these bikes are not nearly phallic enough. They should have two big brass spherical engines hanging under them.

Yes, that is a nice size. I can't wait for it to shoot white hot plasma all over my friends' units!

the correct term is 'ejaculate white hot plasma'.

£70 is just way too expensive for me, £50 I can handle but thats just silly.

They lost more than one sale from me because If I cant afford the rules there's no point in buying the miniatures that are rule specific for this book.

Prices are daylight, I might pick one up on ebay some day, but Matty doesn't like the hobby enough to spend more than fifty nicker on any book.. much as he fancies reading it.

Maybe they will get one in WH Smiths and I can flick through it for an hour?

We are arming Syrian rebels who support ISIS, who is fighting Iran, who is fighting Iraq who we also support against ISIS, while fighting Kurds who we support while they are fighting Syrian rebels.

Heh...the "Bullock" pattern Jetbike.

As for the 70 GBP price point on the book...
I dunno. If the quality is anywhere near IA11, given the potential size of the book (it looked to be at least as thick as IA11), the leather cover, and the "faux manuscript" pages...
I can see it being worth it.

Of course that's to someone who really likes the Horus Heresy and wants to play in that period of time, but that's not me.

A valiant try, but it is going to be really hard to 'justify' a £70 book for something that should be the best selling thing Forge World has ever done.

We all know why they are doing it, IF they are doing it, I guess...

I could probably swallow the price if it was for a small series. Extremely reluctant to splash the cash going into something far more open-ended, though ...

I think this is something I will need to split the cost with. Will see if anyone else in my group is interested.

If you can keep your head, while all about you are losing their's, then you have probably completely misunderstood the situation!

I certainly doubt it will be a small series - think the video even metioned that it would be an ongoing series, possibly something akin to the current IA books they produce. Maybe not that long as there is a narrative to adhere to.

With the exception of the Space Marine from last years(?) FW open day (which itself was a gift) I do not own a single piece of FW merchandise. That will definately change with this release. I'm a big fan of the HH and have been wishing it to be released ever since I got into the BL books.

I'm also kind of glad that its FW doing it as the price helps to keep it somewhat unique. IF GW were to do it, the novelty would quickly wear off as every man and their dog would own a heresy era army and that would take the gloss off it for me.

I think the price of £70 for the book is a bit much but just from the teaser video the quality looks good enough that I would pay half that just to own it for the fluff & pics. That it also includes for some of my favourite elements of the entire 40k universe and some great Space Marine characters, both loyal and traitor, seals the deal for me.

I'm also a bit shocked they made the "rules" so bloody expensive. The part we all want is the army lists and the miniatures. Black Library has the rest sewn up. I am a bit worried they will see this as "no getting enough ROI" and pull the plug all because they were too stupid to make the rules accessible to most players.

Heresy setting + FW + 'Official' Primarch rules = reason enough to jack the gak out of the price, maybe?

But, maybe they'll be a non-faux leather version, more reasonably priced?

I would be surprised if they did not...but they haven't done that with Tamurkhan, so they might not.
