Subject: Dreadknight FAQ

Frightening Flamer of Tzeentch

I apologize if this has been covered. The Dreadknight threads I found were debating doomfists and I simply have a question about their FAQ entry.
Q: Does a Nemesis Dreadknight armed with a Nemesis greatsword have
4 Attacks at Strength 10 that, because of the Nemesis greatsword, can
re-roll To Hit, To Wound and Armour Penetration rolls?(p54)
A: Yes.
Could someone explain to me why they have 4 attacks at strength 10 due to the Nemesis greatsword? I've always played them as 3 attacks (4 if charging) and base strength unless I choose to make smash attacks. Thanks in advance!

They have 2 fists. The Greatsword is just an upgrade. It doesn't replace the fists.

Or rather it does replace one fist, but that still leaves one fist to make for a total of 2 close combat weapons, with one of them giving str10.
the fist.

Really? I thought the fists were specialist. Oh well, it does make more sense.
But yes, the S10 is from the fist.

No, then you'd have to choose a weapon as you can't pick and choose or combine abilities from two different weapons.
Honestly though you'd think they would have made these specialist weapons at least. The fact a greatsword is "an upgrade" is just silly to me. *Shrug*

No, then you'd have to choose a weapon as you can't pick and choose or combine abilities from two different weapons.
And that's how everyone has wanted to read it in all the old threads on this. But the FAQ dispelled that.

The problem is that as it is now, the upgrade is insanely strong. But if it were the other way, grabbing a sword is situational at best, and still expensive as hell.
The situation has no middle ground. Well, unless the sword was a free replacement to the fist and the fist was specialist. That, to me, would be a good compromise.

The DK does replace one fist with a Greatsword. The FAQ essentially says you get the benefits of both weapons. @Purifier. That, and Hammerhand would have an actual use, instead of the nothing it does now.

Yeah. I guess reading it as an upgrade (ie not losing the original fist) is a better way to not confuse it with other rules.
