Hey guys, I've tracked down a guy in town who's selling some old and new un-assembled models, one of which is a nib Armorcast Reaver titan (w/
vulcan mg, rocket pod, powerfist).

He's offering it for $226 (cdn) and I was wondering if this is a good enough deal to jump on. I haven't been playing long enough to remember when these guys were in production, and since the only comparable model is the FW Reaver, which with price increase and detail changes is barely comparable, I'm kind of stuck on whether it's worth it.

Although I personally prefer the FW model I really like the vintage style of this one as well, and I know a couple people who would appreciate it as a pre-heresy titan walking the local GW apoc games. That along with the fact that I love green stuffing means that I would still love to build this model.


Is 226 a good price, Is it worth it, or should I wait and save up another 600 for the FW model?

Armorcast hasn't made GW stuff since the early 90s, and their models are increasingly rare. Since it's less than a third of the price of the (admittedly gorgeous) Forgeworld model, I think it's a pretty solid deal.

It goes for at least twice that regularly on Ebay. If you like it go for it!

Actually I just talked to the person again and found out it comes with 2 extra arms as well (inferno and plasma), so I'm more convinced I should get it.
And to be fair if in a couple months I haven't started painting yet, I'll sell it to anyone online for 250/300.

Man I'd love to find someone offering that deal. ESPECIALLY unassembled/painted. I'd get it if you have the money.

I'd buy it for resale. Personally don't like the look of them at all. I didn't even like the look of 90s stuff (except Eldar) even back then!

I'm with the others that don't like the look of the model - but you should still buy it...they're worth nearly double that on ebay, even if you decide to ever get rid of it you could double your money

Don't worry guys, I bought it.
Came in the original box, with 4 arms, even had the assembly and walk through papers on subscribing to Inquisitor magazine.
If any of you guys are in Ottawa, the guy I bought it from also has about 15 different rogue trader vehicles to get rid of, and his friend might be offering one of the Armorcast Eldar Titans.

I'll have pictures up of the model untouched the next couple days, and will be running a P&M Blog if I go about converting/painting it.

I personally like the style of most of the titan, and the parts I don't I'll likely convert, I'm already ordering a bunch of green-stuff and plasticard in anticipation for creaking a mask to place over it's face.

Sadly after putting a bit of work into it I've decided I just don't have the time to get this titan done, so I'm selling it to avoid taking one of these guys out of circulation.

I put in a decent amount of hours and a battlescape+magnetization of cash.
That and when you buy an item on the recommendation of 8/9 people explaining it should cost more I'd hardly disagree

I'm not runnin' on ya for asking for money for your time! I think the original price was low so clearly it being built isn't rough at all. I sincerely hope you sell it!

Don't worry I know, and I'm sad I can't give the same deal I got but I this is the lowest I can sell it for without cringing

Honestly, it's still a good price for an Armourcast Titan, I don't blame him.

I'm curious, I probably should have already asked this but...
What have you guys seen these things go for in the past? (though this is dangerously close to being off-topic)

There's 2 up on eBay now but they're painted, which unless it's by a GD winner I usually count as a negative, but they're ~215 (but mid-way through bidding).

I've seen painted ones go for ~$450, not the kind of thing I usually follow though.
