Is there any chance in seeing a political thread in the future, I know the off-topic is for just that, off topic stop not relevant to wargaming, but I was just thinking, I am (and hopefully others) starting to notice that the off topic is filled with Obama and Obama that, or American politics bla bla bla. Maybe instead of just leaving all the political raving and flame in the off-topic forum, why not just make a Political one? In my opinion, I always thought "Off-Topic" meant people tell stories or how something funny happened to them today or stuff of that matter.

Once, on a forum very similar to Dakka, I created a thread called, "Convince me to take a side on gun control" or something like that. I forget the exact wording.
In any case, after seven pages it was locked. I was banned for 'trolling', while three other users were banned for 'flaming'.

Or maybe you just mean the over-the-top rhetoric will stop? I suppose that's one possible interpretation, sure, but I think the other thing is more likely.
