If you play in the Atlanta area I suggest looking up Raven's Nest games in Marietta, they have a good group that plays there, big into Apocalypse games! Not to mention they sell GW stuff at nearly cost! Message me if you have an interest!

I've been there. That place is awful. The owner is rude as can be, the tables and terrain are useless and I didn't even know that they had a group there at all since everybody I met was either unfriendly or played magic and was unfriendly

Well, we are a new club, just started building out terrain collection! As for the owner, I can't even imagine that soft spoken guy being rude to anyone.

And card flingers will be card flingers.

Come by on a Saturday sometime and meet the crew, I'm sure you'll see the place in a better light! Besides, I know I can't argue with $45 landraiders.

It is a club of one. Since he got banned from Giga-Bites, he made his own club.

Come on Hans, that's just plain untrue! You even know several of the club members! Maybe one day you'll realize people that play at one store don't need to hate on people that play at another store. We're all just playing with little toy soldiers, this isn't WWII.

That's a bit harsh. The owner is the nicest shop owner I think I've ever met.

I buy most of my board games and 40k from Raven's Nest. (BTW, the prices on board games are fantastic as well). They only have a single (proper) table, and the terrain isn't terrible. They have a huge Magic player base, so the store is pretty full on Friday nights. I don't play there currently, but if they ever add a couple more tables and more terrain, I don't think I'd ever leave the store.

Wow. Comments like that are the reason I would not ever want to be involved with your store

Well maybe I hit him on a bad day....and everybody else in there as well. Still, first impressions last and it doesn't strike me as a place that is interested in supporting miniature gaming, rather just out to damage other stores that have gaming communitys. His discount isn't designed to be good for the Atlanta gaming community at all, eventually it will fracture the entire area

BTW, I do play at another local store, and will continue to support them as I see the results of my support everytime I go in there. Better to have a store dedicated to miniature gaming, than some guy who added a small amount of 40k to his magic store to appease a few toadies and give the finger to other stores

Everyone needs to calm down, please. Leave your inter-store angst at the gates; we don't need it on Dakka.

Yeesh, who knew my little post would kick up so much drama? Sorry if I offended any Giga-Folk, but I promise we aren't at war! And if you have any ideas to improve the store or club, just let me know!
