Does the scene in Space Marine where Titus meets the Blood Ravens from the crusade fleet indicate the survival of the chapter? Does anyone know the chronological relationship between Dawn of War 2: Retribution and Space Marine?

Id put it down to that there is little or no canonical link between the two games (though I would like to think that there is). After all Captain Titus would be replacing Captain Sicarius for leadership of the second company. Although I havnt been able to play DOWII and its expansions im pretty sure the chapter survives under the leadership of a very battered Gabriel Angelos.

Edit: 1000 posts, yay!

I was under the opinion Space Marine was set well before the current timeline? They do have 10,000 years to play with. So the Blood Ravens might not even be nearing the current catastrophes they're in now, and Sicarius might not even be recruited yet.

I consider it to be in M42, considering the amount of time between the attack of Hive Fleet Leviathan in Dawn of War 2, and the defeat of Kyras in Retribution. Then there must have been an obvious time jump towards Space Marine, given the knowledge of the Blood Raven's victory in Aurelia being common.

So I consider Titus to be Sicarus's successor, after the former either dies or more likely has been inducted into the honor guard.

Think of something clever to say.

Actually I re-read your post, ignore my earleir reply. It was completely wrong.

As for your post Arcsquad, I agree with you completely. I like to think of SM in the M42 with Titus the replacement to Sicarus

I agree...though I would believe Sicarus replaced Marneus Calgar as Chapter Master instead of just becoming an Honor Guard. This is just me but, Sicarus seems more suited to be Chapter Master than Calgar does.

I should have left him there. He had served his purpose. He owed me nothing - yet he gave himself to me willingly. Why? I know not. He is nothing more than a pathetic human. An inferior race. A mon-keigh. But still I broke off my wings so that I might carry him easier. I took him from that place, into the snowstorm where our tracks will not be found. He is heavy. And he is dying. And he is slowing me down. But I will save him. Why? I know not. He is still warm. I can feel his blood ebbing across me. For every beat of his heart, another, slight spill of heat. The heat blows away on the winter wind. His blood is still warm. But fading. And I have spilled scarlet myself. The snow laps greedily at our footsteps and our lifeblood, covering them without a trace as we fade away.

I think most people would prefer to have captain Titus as second company captain rather than Sicarius. I would be more than happy to play against someone using a captain Titus model, but using Sicarius' rules.

No, they refrence Dawn of War 2.

Indeed, but Relic has said that their games take place in an alternate universe from the standard GW one.

Which I think is silly.

I like to believe that Sicarius is dead and Titus was his replacement.

I actually like to think that Calgar is dead leaving Sicarus and 1st Company dude to duke it out for Chapter Master. Either way Sicarus would be promoted (either to Chapter Master or 1st Company command)

but ya I think its stupid that its an "alternate universe" Hence why I simply ignore that

Does anyone else think the Cptn in the game should have had a helm with a centurions comb? Or perhaps the forward facing striped comb (or whatever that broom on there hat is called).

When Titus meets the Blood Ravens he refers to the Aurelia Campaign.

Thus Space Marine is after Dawn of War II: Retribution. The Blood Ravens survived, purged themselves utterly of all heretics and Gabriel Angelos is the Chapter Master.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Also, does the game actually SAY Titus is head of the 2nd Company? I know that he has the whole gold trim thing, but let's be honest, the coloured trim is new with the 5th Codex and penned by Matt Ward... I am sure that many die-hard UM fans simply ignore this 'rule' and depict *all* UMs with their ubiquitous trim. Hell, even the Ultramarines MOVIE did it.
