Subject: Identify an old GW boxed set

The Conquerer
Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios

So I was in a shop yesterday and I saw a bunch of old Warhammer sets and there was one I had never seen before.
It contained Sicarius, Pedro Kantor, 5 Sternguard, 5 Vanguard, 3 Scout Bikes, a TFC, and a Drop Pod. On the shelf for $250
Seems like an odd boxed set. Anybody know any other information on it.

That was a set released when the last SM Codex was released. Basically it included every new set that they released at the time but you saved a certain amount compared to buying them seperately.

It just seemed really odd to me. The picture had everything in UM colors except Pedro.

Ultramarine Master with Gauntlets of Macragge

Yeah, it was the Space Marines Spearhead. GW released Spearheads for armies for a while; I remember buying the Ork one from the Ork release as well. It was every new model coming out at the time in one big box, but I don't think it actually saved you anything. Everything's in Ultramarine colors because that's the default GW paintscheme, but it does look silly with Pedro there in Crimson Fists colors.

I thought the box was wierd. It wasn't any sort of their normal holiday bundle package.
I can see how its stayed on the shelf all this time

It was called spearhead or something. They did something like this at the start of 3rd edition with the salamanders army and what not.
If you're thinking about getting it, if they have a megaforce, get that instead. There's a lot more usefull things in that box over spearhead, and it's cheaper.

Conduct While Gaming
While rolling a die, do not say, “Anything but a 1!” unless you wish the die to come up as 1. Any other such attempts to anger the “Dice Gods” will result in the existential equivalent of continuously flipping a coin and having it come up heads every time (for reference, see Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead). Your dice will be cursed to roll ones for everything other than morale checks, which will come up sixes.
ORK PLAYERS HAVE A LIMIT OF 1 SCREAMS OF WAAAAAAGH PER HOUR. violators will be forced to play tau.
Players with chimeras and las weapons shall pronounce chimera ki-mere-uh, not chim-ere-uh. Violators will be forced to play nothing but world eaters. Non-40k personnel must purchase and build a chimera. |

It saved quite a bit.
And when I read the title, I thought I might find some 2nd Edition stuff. So I only know that not the box but me is old.
