Is this meant as the only choice of legions? Because Thousand Sons are the only one that even make my top 10. 
For me it's between Imperial Fists, Death Guard and World Eaters. To pick one...
Probably Death Guard - coz plague will consume all.

Coolest before the Heresy. Coolest after the Heresy.
All other Legions kinda seem to need to "add-stuff" to make them "cooler" (Space Marines with added pelts, Space Marines with added warts, Space Marines with added magic, Space Marines with added gore, Space Marines with added bionics, Space Marines with added reticence, whatever).
It's like sticking Japanese spoilers and airbrush-flames to a classic muscle-car just to be different. It doesn't really make it cooler.

Alpha Legion are awesome, 'Legion' is my favourite book that I've read so far. Luna Wolves I like as well, I like the tactics they use and that Horus had an inner circle of trusted advisors who individually represented various extremes but as a group provided balanced counsel.

Having the most badass battle cry of all the legions? "All is dust!"
They walked the fine line between brute force and excellent finesse, and succeeded. They never liked to destroy and kill. Even as other Primarchs and legions mocked them for not being at the front at all times and shunned them for their will to preserve and learn from the cultures they encountered, they knew that they had the Emperors blessing. Doing what they was good at: Working towards a brighter future for all mankind. (Yes, yes. Magnus had hubris and much "Just as planned" was whispered in the great ocean.)
