The actual stands for the miniature units, I've a question about them.

I live in Oklahoma, which has a lot of red dirt. I plan on using it for the bases as I can imagine Baal being a red desert planet.

What's the best method of gluing dirt onto it? Would a glue stick work well, or should I go the more... Resource eating route and use super glue?

1 make sure your dirt/sand is dry

2 get a cheep bottle of pva elmers glue for basing is good enough

Though i should ask what is red dirt like?

Is it dry and sandy, clay like, or almost like soil

Because Im not sure how it will react to pva glue and whatever humidity and temperature it is in Oklahoma

I suggest a test base to be sure.

edit: i tend to use playground sand and when its dryed works pretty well.

It's pretty much soil-ish when wet I believe, it's not often I play in the dirt... But when it dries, I know for a fact it's pretty much like sand granules, very dry indeed.

If you intend to use it, it will work fine. I use very fine sand all the time.

Best idea is to get a heap of it, then line a baking tray with some oven paper and then bake it for probably 30 minutes.

PVA glue will work to get it stuck down.

What I do with flock (which would work just the same with what you've got trying to use dirt) would be to:

Mix your elmers white glue with your dirt. Get a gloopy mess going. Slap that onto your surface, then sprinkle straight dry dirt on top. Changing the ratio of glue to dirt for runnier or chunkier "mud" means you can make hills and crap too.
