BTW Tibbsy, have you heard the version of 'Another Brick in the Wall (pt 2) by that supergroup featuring Layne Staley and Tom Morello? It's quite good.

I don't know how to explain it, but I just know that I like Ignite's cover of "Sunday Bloody Sunday" by U2. Then again, Richard Cheese's version is pretty boss, but that's because he's the King of Covers.

There are so many excellent covers already in here; Type O Negative, 1000 Homo DJs, Marylin Manson, FNM and of course the great Johnny Cash.

Here's another FNM, covering I Started a Joke. Seriously, watch the vid. It's excellent.

Judas Priest covers Joan Baez's Diamonds and Rust.

Spoiler:

Amorphis covers Hawkwind's Levitation.

Spoiler:

Life of Agony covering Redemption Song. Perfect version, Keith's emotive voice really shines.

I second Metallica's cover of Whiskey in the Jar ... They did win a Grammy for it after all.

I'm going to throw in Metallica's cover of Turn the Page too!

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Johnny Cash's cover of Rusty Cage, originally by Soundgarden.

I love Devo but they really should stay away from covers. Their cover of (I can't get no) Satisfaction is pretty poor as well.

Here's Mr Bungle covering the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

Have you seen this version? It is very well put together.

I don't even KNOW anymore.

Rasputina has a very good cover of Floyd's "Wish You Were Here". I like it better, even though it lost some of the disconnected feel of the original.

Lou Reed's cover of "This Magic Moment" is fething amazing, and I'll fight anyone who disagrees

Chris Cornell's version of Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean". It's a very different feeling song that I like equally to the original, except for the horrible solo. I'm not sure who the guitarist was, but I'm not impressed.

Spoiler:

Pearl Jam's version of Neil Young's "Rockin' in the Free World" (amongst their covers of Pink Floyd's "Mother", The Who's "Baba O' Riley" and "Love Reign O'er Me", and Victoria Williams' "Crazy Mary")

I agree with you on 'Wild Horses', MGS. It's the best version, the Sundays' one.
