Hey guys. I want to do a digital camo scheme for my tau empire. I was wondering which color scheme do you guys like better? The traditional tau orange and browns or the grey urban camo colors? Also in the middle are three colors I was thinking of using for as accent colors. The blue for gems and power, red for plating and the yellow for little lights and buttons.

If I go with a traditional tau army I will paint my firewarriors like they appear on the box. If I do with the urban theme I will paint them like this:

I want to also say I did the digital camo really fast so pardon the bad brush strokes. I would be using a airbrush on my real hammerheads so there wouldn't be stroke marks or bleeding.

I tried digital camo once. Let me tell you how it didn't come out lol.

I wish you the best of luck, it's tough to use at our scale. Personally, I like the urban myself, but I typically like things that are outside the norm.

Good luck. A lot of good luck.

Why is it that only those who have never fought in a battle are so eager to be in one?

I don't think my digital camo came out that bad and like I said I didn't want to bust out my airbrush so there was run over under the masking tape. I would have much cleaner lines if I was doing this in more than 10 minutes. I just wanted a quick idea of what the two schemes would look like.

Lol, I was just saying I had no good results, and that's with an airbrush. Then again I wasn't doing tau, so the details where screwing me at every other minute of the day.

Again, I like the Urban

To keep digital camo to scale each pixel would have to be about 0.065mm

Any attempt I've seen so far has looked a bit blocky but if you manage to make it look right you may be my new hero

Its going to be on my hammerheads and devilfish so it doesn't need to be that small. Each pixel is 1/16'' which is about 1.5mm.

That is awesome, can't wait to see it.

If I had my tau to do overagain, I would consider urban (or camo) tau.
