I just recieved by first finecast model today for my 18th Birthday but I have found a few.. well... faults with it I should say I'm thinking of contacting GW site to maybe have the model replaced as it would take a fair bit of work to repair some of the bubble damage and flash damage and I just dont have the time nor the resources to do it right now :/ The model is Lemartes and it's only the sprue with the arms on it that I need replaced.
My question is, has anyone dealt with customer service for Australian GW hobby enthusiasts and are they any good?

Finecast has sooooooo many problems GW have to be really good about swapping it but if you do it over the phone the whole process is going to end up dragged out since they may well get you to mail it back to them then inspect it and mail another out.
The best thing to do is to take it into a GW store, show the guy and if he doesn't have any in stock to give you one will come in within the week.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

Eh, problem with that, the nearest shop is around 2 hours away lol I have to order everything to where I am.
I did however call them and the guy on the other end was friendly and placed an order for my miscast pieces to be sent through the mail without extra charge or asking for the miscast products to be sent back... I think it could vary with who you get on the phone O.o Overall, I think it was brilliant and definately makes me want to buy finecast again from them.

I've never dealt with them with finecast issues, but I have with a regular sprue. Service was fantastic.

I bought a box of Necron Immortals, and one of the sprues looked like a box had been dropped on it. I emailed customer service. They asked about the nature of the problem, and a photo.

Within a week they'd dispatched me a replacement sprue. Didn't even ask for the old crappy one. I managed to recover some useful bits for conversions from it.

Edit: I contacted 'HobbyService' <HobbyService@games-workshop.com.au>. I first contacted them on 3 March, I recieved my replacement parts on 12 March. I emailed them the pics of the damaged item on 8 March.

Phone them.

They'll probably ask for the batch number (it's printed on the pack, they'll tell you where to look) and what parts are miscast - they've stopped sending the entire model again if they can avoid it. They might ask you to send it in for replacement, and if they do, they'll send you a return paid parcel. If they ask if you can go into the store, tell them it's very far away.

Overall, GW Australia (or GW anywhere) customer support are very pleasent to work with. Just give them a ring.

Don't worry, that feeling will go away after about the third or fourth time you have to call them.

I dont mind, the simple fact that they are willing to replace my miscast parts free of charge I think makes it worth it and gives me confidence that I can buy a finecast model from them, and know that any problems with it will be fixed by the company in the form of a replacement .... even if I do have to call back several times O.o
