as the title states while i have posted about my love and possible pursuit of beastmen or WoC, i really want a faction that feels different than my VC's mostly along the lines of the horde since thats what i run, i still need to get 6 banshees amd a unit of dragon princes but back on topic.

What faction is the opposite of my loved vampires and skeleton droogs besides dwarfs while i love dwarfs i got 2 battle for skull pases i still need to assemble for a friend and i have dwarves lying around i just cant get to like the models in the skull pass box.

How bout a list of what i can and cannot use based on the people playing

Can Use
- WoC
- The Empire
- Tomb Kings (meh dont want to go over here but i listed anyway)
- Dark Elves
- Beastmen: no one else shows interest besides me
- Wood Elves: look fun i like ranged and tree ents

Cannot use based on player base
- Ogre Kingdoms
- Orks and goblins:i cant stand them anyway
- Daemons of Chaos: the ogre player uses them
- Skaven: cant stand rat men but i got my buddy the high elves vs skaven box
- Lizardmen- guy just got his battatlion
- Dwarves- I love them but not their models
- Brettonia: A friend who uses them and i dont dig the gaudy colours
- High Elves- no to ponce for me

I have heard Wood Elves are behind on their codex which is expected soon and they are ranged
Beastmen are a old favorite but as a catholic part of me cringes as the models while still loving them and i have a unit of incomplete beastigors
WoC i dig sigvauld
DE- I have a unit of them outfitted with crossbows
TK- I will not go tomb kings but i posted them as aviable to use.

Please be kind and dont slam me for posting this thread i decided to move away from 2 factions and ask about them all and the opposite(s) of the VC's in playstyle besides magic that is okay stong magic is good magic

As much as I love my beastmen and advocate to the death for them, they are not a shooty army, they are opposite of VC as their troops can really tally up some kills but overall they lack shooting which is something VC lacks as well so for a 2nd army I would advocate for something that you have been missing an entire phase of the game out on. This also puts WoC in this catagory, they do have some shooting from Hell Cannons and honestly I hate BS shooting so it is not a bad option but in no way do I think they compensates for a "shooty army". TK is magic and shooty heavy I have em, I love em they are opposite of my beastmen and that's why I grabbed them. So DE I believe it is, they do lack some some template based war machines which I like, and the T3 may make you cry but it is unfortunately standard and more of a standard with elves of any kind. If you really want a balanced army for every phase of the game I would consider the other option of Empire, while they are generally considered a "horde" army they don't have to be, such as using knights as some of your core.

The above was based purely from a game play prospective however if you really love the beastmen I encourage them. They have beautiful models are their book while being 7th edition based was made with 8th in mind so you benefit from a cheaper army book with reasonable command cost (no 10pts each no matter what).

Could do a Sylvania Empire Army, this way you can mix in your VC as counts as troops to cut down on building and painting a lot of troops, and it would work well with a theme for 2v2 matches.

Wood elves are about as far from Vamps as it gets. Shooty MSU with some monsters and life magic. The figs are nice and paint up easily, as well. Plus most of the core stuff is in plastics (Dryads, Archers, Glade Riders) and a small amount of finecast.

The WoC battalion is an excellent deal.

Get a couple characters of your choice and couple boxes of Warriors and you'll have the core of a solid army.

You don't need to paint tons of skaven to make a skaven army. Get 2 IoB skaven armies will probably run you $90-$100 for 2 sets on ebay.
'
Then go with 40 clanrats with shields, banner, musician and weapon team you are looking at 257pts, so you got 2 of those so that's 514 on your core which will take you through 2k or go with 40 Stormvermin, horded add a weapon team, Storm Banner and you are looking at 420+pts or make it 50 or 55 to get you over 500 pts for a 2k game. Or take Throt and make 2 big ole units of rat ogres, then for special back them up with more rat ogres, and Hell Pits of course.

i read what the tzeentch warriors of chaos get is it as bad as i think it is and by bad i mean really cheesy.

Slaanesh looking cooler as time goes by since i want beef cakes warriors of chaos look cooler and cooler as time passes.
Same with the Empire love their fashionable dress sense and the feel of the army.
Wood Elves feel a trifle underwhelming i like them still but i dont know if i like them enough to spend money on them.

Tzeentch warriors arn't really cheesy. Just insanely durable, but they pay for it.

A Tzeentch Chosen-star is very killy and durable if its armed with Halberds and rolls the 3+ ward and Stubborn. Of course I would expect nothing less from a unit that's easily running 500-800 points.

Yes, but they arn't.

In 40k they are more durable(toughness boost) but in Fantesy its a -1WS or BS penelty for models attacking them(either in BtB or when shooting)

Its insanely over priced and ineffective. I wouldn't pay 1/3 of the cost for what it does.

What about Dark Elves? Or, Eldar/Dark Eldar from 40K. Those designs are more in keeping with the Slaaneshii Lord/Hero models, if that's the kind of look you're after.
