They are a very silent and paranoid chapter. Their homeplanet is called Arcadia. An ancient world often spoken of in miths of lost worlds. Roughly as big as Armaggedon but not an industrial world. Ancient ruins of forgotten days cover the landscape and mysterious engines of unknown purpose breach the earth like pillars.
The planet itself is crossed with a myriad of tunnels underneath the surface. If the situation affords extrem gunfire, the world itself can be used as a weapon.
In a matter of minutes the old weapon batteries can breach the landscape and transform Arcadia into a weapon of pure annahilation. The weapon batteries itself provide the planet with the strength of a standard space marine war cruiser..
The chapter itself is called "Archivars" because they use to archivate every single information which comes into their hands. Carefully written by the servants of the legio, the informations survive aeons. The archives inherit some very rare STC's. Examples are patterns of the "Glocharan Contemptor Dreadnought". A Contemptor armed with a giant plasma cannon mounted upon each shoulder and a melta cannon on each arm. Another weapons of massive destruction is the "Arcadian Thunder Weapons Pattern A-k1" Mostly blades and maces crafted from a bone like metal only found on Arcadia. These weapons are much stronger then the normal power weapons of the Imperium. However they share these knowledge with everyone who proves himself worthy. The Master of the Forge Evrakil works very close with the Mechanicus to ensure the most effective way of information exchange( ).Thanks to these connections the Mechanicus is provided with a big flow of crafting materials and workers and for exchange the chapter is provided with finely crafted wargear. The third company is always in search for more STC. The homeplanet itself rarely inherits more then a third of the chapter. Most of the companies search the universe for relics of untold powers and scripts of long lost wisdom.
They stand under Inquisitorial watch because of a , how should I say, "delicate" discussion. The chapter master Lucifer Morningstar was ordered to Terra because he had to swear his loyality to the Ecclesiarch.
"Data streams flash up and reconstruct a long past scene"
"Ah I see you have come as ordered , Lucifer" spoke the Ecclesiarch with a self-confident glance in his eyes, "Will you swear your oath?" This was a question only by formal meanings, of course he would swear , hought the Ecclesiarch
"WHo do you think who you are?" spoke Lucifer, he was not shouting, but the cold and hateful sound of his voice disturbed everyone in the room.
"I am the Ecclesiarch, but I guess this was a rhetorical question?"
"You demand of me to bow before your feet and swear some meaningless oaths? It would be another queston if you'd ask or even plea for it but YOU DARE TO DEMAND?!"the very soil of the room was trembling with the voice of the Astartes.
"I...I do...don't understand, does this mean you are not loyal to the Imperium?!" That would be agreat loss thought the Ecclesiarch.
"DO not insult me with your smeary words. I serve the Emperor and the Imperium. I have sworn my oaths to the god-king of the Imperium, not to you old man."
"Assasins, eliminate the madman." spoke the religous leader, an Astartes is a mighty enemy but no challenge for 3 assasins, he thought. He was wrong.
Before evenone of them moved, already two assasins lied on the floor with their heads sliced of by a giant , golden sword. The third one died shortly after his brethren. He lied on the floor with a smashed rib-cage.
"Do never challenge me again, fool, or I shall smash your bones under my feet and coat my blade in your blood." Lucifer merely whispered but the Ecclesiarch knew that he would fulfill his promise without hesitation.
With these words he left the palace of Terra.
"The data streams close again"

Tell me what do you think, do you have any ideas?, do you want to add something? Tell me, Im open for C&C's.

Well where to begin. Your chapter seems to be very Mary Sue, and let me point out that very, very few if any chapters can hold back such technology from the Adeptus Mech.
Secondly ALL Astartes are loyal to the emperor unless they plan to go renegade or traitor. They do not swear loyalty to the Eclisiarch.

Ok thanks for your critics. I have researched a bit about the connection between AM and SM. SM's , it seems, are obliged to share every new technology with AM BUT the Blood Angels have broken this tradition by discovering the Baal Predator and keeping it for himself. So I thought why not adapt it for myself? After the embeding of the Emperor the Ecclesiarchie pretty much serves as the mouth of the emperor (says Lexicanum). My chapter is settled in a time where the Ecclesiarch is a might-hungry but mindweak man. So he wanes himself into might and power by commanding the other.

I pretty much agree with Trondheim here, you seem to have just gone 'Hmm, what will make my chapter unique..I know, better weapons, a gun-planet much better than terra's armada and an over-powered dreadnought varient.'

Edit: the Blood Angels likely get to keep some tech because they are one of the original Legions, and as a result command much, much more respect than other, newer chapters such as your own.

Its a difference betwen the Blood Angels who are one of the originale legions. And therefor have much more leeway than a chapter like your own. And a new deadnaugth pattern like the one you describe would automatically be claimed by Adeptus Mech. or some other Imperial agency since it would be such a potent weapon.

And the world needs to change tone down its capabilities and armament. There are very few things that can stand up to a entire fleet no mater what sector that fleet may come from. I see your idea about the Echlisiarch but I still think it is very bad. Either tone it down or rework it

Hmmm it seems that I'm not that good in expressing myself in englisch as I thougt. My army will be played by the DA rules so I thought to take up that ballistic skill thematic in the book. As far as concerning the dreds. Their existance isnt even secured. The planet. Hmm I dont know , I ,as Star Wars fan, immediately thought of the death star. I also read that the DA's legio fortress is a dead chunk of a planet floating through space. So I thought of making a movable fortress. As far as concerning the "Golden " weapons . They are much like the obsidian weapons of the DA's, only awarded to important Astartes. I havent shaped out the story that much, its everything which came into my mind in the last 20 minutes. Nevertheless thanks for the critics.

Again you do not realize the difference between a original legion and your own new chapter. The rock that you refer to are what remains of their home world Caliban. Well those weapons better be rare since well such things rarely just get tossed around.
And your welcome, always nice to help a fellow gamer

Ah well, I see. Ok, scrap the overpowered world weapon. Lets downgrade it into a big scale war-ship. About the dred pattern. Hmm let me think...... I'll change it this way, negotiations between the Archivars and the Mechanicus are in work. They will be exchanging informations and valuable building copies. Good good, sounds much better. I'll keep it up with the Ecclesiarch stuff but I definetly need to refine it.
How does that sound?

I think the super weapon idea can still be worked into your background, but instead of owning the weapons, make them their safekeepers on behalf of the Imperium. This would also allow your chapter to have multiple bases and outposts, all responsible for protecting and finding artifacts.

So a legion made up of Indiana Jones.

Ask yourself: have you rated a gallery image today?

Much better, sounds rather promising

No the super weapon needs to go away. Such tasks are better left to the Adeptus Mech in my opinion, if it really needs to stay make them merely provide security and protection to the Adeptus Mech personnel maintain them. The rest sounds good thou

So I have re-written some stuff. Currently I'm working on the different companies. As for now :
2. company: "the Archivarii" the most skilled scriptors and psykers of the chapter led by Keeper Rumilis.
3.company: "the Travellers" a Tech-marine only company. Led by the Master of the Forge Evrakil. Currently delegated to Mars.

2.company sounds rather nice, I like this idea.
3. company sounds a bit iffy, Tech Marines are not found in such amounts that you can form a whole company of them. I would rather see something else for this company, but I like the detail about the master of the forge sent to Mars

Mhhh, ok I see your point..........
3. company: "the Travellers" All techmarines, exploration ships and tanks fused in one company. Some kind of a ravenwing but with tanks.
The master of the forge will have a big role in the fluff

What part about the stuff I just replied with did you not understand? Tech marines are rare and hence they should not be traveling alone. Their deaths would cripple the chapter when it comes to repairs, maintenance and manufacturing of weapons. And beside a Ravenwing with tanks just sounds bad.

My god I really need to learn to write out all my thoughts.
First: The 3. company is theobserving and leading part of the explorations. A tech-marine would never travel alone.
They travel with a moderate range of SM troups, Imperial guardsmen and of course tanks.
About the thing with the ravenwing. I wont ever use bikes. I just thought to take a company which consists of almost only drivers and their machines. I just exchanged these bikes for tanks. All the tech's are inside of that company but they are not the only Astartes of the company.

Yes that would be smart I recon Anyhow ever onwards! Well that sounds more and more solid. Well explained and detailed I can foresee myself liking a story about them. They would most likely need to have a quite substantial amount of regular SM with them since well they may stumble upon rather nasty tings. Oh and the Astartes may never command Imperial Guard forces as I am sure you are aware of, Im not sure about your plans still but perhaps your local gamers will approve.

Yes the Imps dont serve the chapter itself but they are supporting them.I thought of making a little allied imperial force for my SM's.
