I have recently aquired this model for alot cheaper than it is worth, but does anyone know what it is worth? I don't know if I want to resell it or just keep it depending on the price.

Has anyone recently bought this on ebay and can tell me what is its price? I can only see one on ebay but thats £60, I doubt its really worth that much lol.

If you acquired it "for a lot cheaper than it is worth", you almost 99.99% chance bought a recast and paid far more than it was worth.

And yes, 60 GBP is around what it's worth. The FW event models usually go for insane amounts after the year in which they were being sold.

I'm really surprised that model hasn't been recasted to hell and back.

It actually has been.

eBay though has been cracking down on a lot of recasters...add to it that many of the more infamous recasters (*cough* China *cough*) have just set up their own websites for suckers to buy from, and you see a lot of the recasts move from eBay to elsewhere.

My friend collects DKOK but his not that much of a player so his army jsut get left behind so I sometimes uses his army for games and now his lost interest completely I basicly got his army for free.

I am too, I have seen recasts of all sorts but never limited ed models.. I guess people pay to get the real deal when buying one of those collectable and because owning a real one is just that much better than having a fake, Thats why I collected the 2003 wolf priest still NIB because I wanted to own it.

If you've never seen recasts of limited edition models, you haven't looked that hard for limited edition models.

I had to get into a fullscale bidding war with someone in the UK to get my Dark Angels Chapter Master from the army box because it was the only "legitimate" one posted. Out of the ten listed, 9 were recasts.

How do you tell if something is a recast? I was unaware of this and may have bought some Cadian hazard suit plasma guys that were recasts. :(

If its of really poor quality it might a recast. Although some recasters can make really good quality fakes.

Another indicator is color. If the material is a different color to FW resin then it is likely a recast.


The best indicator is price, and anything coming from China.
