I'm about to start The Pyre and I've never worked with Orange before so... Does Troll Slayer Orange cover well? Should I go with a Skull White, Jokaero Orange or Mephiston Red base?

I am painting my Chaos with an orange theme. Granted I am using the old colors (Solar Macharius Orange)




Don't know the conversion to the new colors but this is what I use.

Base coat with Calthan Brown

Layer with Solar Macharius Orange

Wash with Ogryn Flesh

Layer highlight with 3:1 ratio of Skull White:Solar Macharius Orange

If I was painting the Pyre however, I would use a yellow base. Something that covers well, like a base paint or if you can get your hands on an old foundation yellow.

I love Troll Slayer Orange. Whatever you paint looks like a traffic cone. It does not cover very well, though. Since I only use it for small details, I just throw it on super thick, but it really shows. I'd think the best thing to do would be to paint it over white and no less than two coats, probably more. Thanks, thats exactly the shade of orange Im aiming for
