Hey all,

I've bought a used Cryx army and I'd like advice before I start expanding. I did some pretty extensive research before deciding what to purchase, and I feel all of the models below will get a lot of use. Here is what I'll own:

Terminus
1 Seether

Min Mech Thralls

2 Pistol Wraiths

So far, I've come up with the following lists:

Your lists are pretty good. Deneghra has the arc nodes she needs to debuff everything. I wouldn't go for the defiler version though, the Nightwretch would be my choice and then I could add in Gorman Di Wulfe or a Warwitch Siren. The defiler is a good arc node and she loves the shooting versions of the arc nodes but I use my arc nodes as spell extenders first and combatives second.

As for Gaspy, again, it's a good list. The Seether is a good jack though fragile like most of Cryx's stuff. Here I would be missing opportunities to cast excarnate via an arc node though. This is a great trick with bile thralls so maybe when you move into higher point levels it's something to think about.

Extra purchases to think about (but at 35pts and above):

A second Warwitch siren, at higher point levels I run two of them with a couple of arc nodes. This keeps my caster full of focus to cast their spells, rather than fueling jacks.

Gorman Di Wulfe. This guy is versatile. He smoke bombs to protect a caster, black oils to stop a combat monster or debuff def, rusts to reduce armour or acid to remove clumps of infantry. With him and Deneghra you can get a warjack to have -7 armour, -9 with a bane thrall.

Madelyn Corbeau. Little used but awesome when she works. She's extra threat range to anything that would love it. Gaspy1, gaspy2, and terminus all love her and I'm sure I'm missing people.

Deathrippers (x2). The other 4pt arc node sees use with melee orientated casters and when I have points spare it becomes the Ripjaw.

Can't think of anything else currently so enjoy the nightmare empire.

Honestly? Both those Deneghra lists should work fine. Try them out and see how you like them.

For the pDenny list make both defilers nightwretches, use that 2 pts to get a warwitch siren so you can run an arcnode for free when you need to, this will make your list considerably more effective.

Your eGapsy list looks completely fine, though you will need an arcnode or 2 once you go to 35(if you go with 2 arcnodes then drop the seether).

In general a think to know about cryx. When buying an arcnode, buy a nightwretch. Once your core list is complete if you have a point left over, upgrade a nightwretch to a defiler for that spray as this is generally the best 1 pt option for cryx, though machine wraiths for scenario with zones are incredible. Arcnodes will primarily run every turn or the turn you need them to be useful for that arc'd spell. They also never want to be in melee so nightwretches and defilers are the best 2 arcnodes.

Your 2nd pDenny list at 25 is quite strong and the bane knights are a decent purchase money wise as they are core for eGaspy due to his feat.

In general yes, I totally agree, but I have a huge "but" to this statement.

Lets take Skarre1 as my example. I take one arc node with Skarre for the rare opportunity to cast her offensive spells; Hellfire, Blood Rain and Backlash. Most of the time I'm using her focus to cast Dark Guidance though as her army does most of the killing. So as the arc node is only used occasionally I want something that'll work well with her. Dark Guidance gives melee attacks a better chance to hit and her feat adds to a model's strength. So rather than a shooting bone chicken I take a melee one, usually the deathripper.

Thanks! I think the Bane Knights will work well with her, since she won't need to cast Ghostly on them. Although they lack Dark Shroud, I think Deneghra's debuffs will help them out enough. I wish I could get BLT into her list, but I really think the eGaspy list benefits from him more.
