This force relies on overwhelming force to achieve victory; there are no scoring units that can claim battlefield objectives, and its numbers are too few to consider protracted firefights with numerically superior enemies. Instead, remember the Wipeout! rule of the Warhammer 40,000 rulebook - if the enemy has no units left on the table at the end of the game, you win regardless of victory conditions.
Astorath, Lemartes and the Chaplain are all attached to Death Company squads, their Liturgies of Blood rule allowing their fearless compatriots to re-roll both failed rolls to hit and to wound on the turn they launch an assault. The Death Company themselves already benefit from the Feel No Pain and Furious Charge rules, but the Blood Chalice and Red Grail of the Sanguinary Priest and Brother Corbulo extend these benefits not only to themselves but the two Chaplains that accompany the force.
The number of Death Company models in this army means the final two Troops choices can be filled by Death Company Dreadnoughts, one armed with blood fists to help overcome any heavily armoured targets, the other equipped with blood talons to scythe through huge numbers of enemy combatants.
Knowing that victory can only come from the utter destruction of every enemy model on the table is quite liberating, and allows me to throw my troops forward enthusiastically with scant regard for complicated tactics.

I am assuming we are going full, theme list make it badass... hrmmm.
Even n Lemartes squad, boltguns will still avaerage more wounds then chainsword/bolt pistol. Also 36" threat range.
If you can trim having Stormravens are amazing for this list, they bring anti-air, ant-tank, keeps your DC dreads alive to reach combat and give your DC the assault they need to win.
Tycho, while cool cant join any units so... unless you give him his own razorback or raven he isnt going to do much at all sadly... Termy Rescluch would be a solid bet and wont take away from the theme.
The priests hardly add anything besides giving the HQs FNP... at that point I say scrap them for the 180 points and your only 20 points off a stromraven.

Yes true, he can't join any unit as he is not an IC. Same scenario as Mephiston.
Tactics wise, this army is...unusual. I know DC pack a punch in CC but 21 bodies is a pitiful amount for 2000 points. No scoring units means your job is harder in 5/6ths of missions, and the Jump Packs are nerfed slightly in the remaining one (Relic) as you cannot move more than 6"/turn if you are holding the Relic.
You have less than 10 AT weapons: Power Fists, Thunder Hammers and Meltaguns, one of which is a combi. That is nowhere near enough for 2000pts. Take out the Dreadnought, and you're going to have an awful time trying to wade through AV14, which unless you're playing DE, you're bound to find at least once at that level. A DE army can field 15-20 Dark Lances at 2000pts, that could make mincemeat of your force, leaving you with very little in ways of retaliation.
In short:
- More anti-tank firepower
- More scoring units
- Get rid of Tycho as he can't join units.
- God knows why you have Sanguinary Priests as every model in your army bar the Chaplains have those rules anyway.

The rules state if a player has no models left at the end of their turn then they lose.
I suppose it depends on how confident you are in your ability to totally destroy someone quickly?

This does look fun. I'd definitely play you! You can still get slay the warlord, line breaker and first blood with this army. It's possible to get a victory point win, but difficult. Still, have fun! I sure would with this list XD

well, it is actually 30 minis & 2 rhinos (so 32 minis). This is a list right from GW... So I didn't make it up. They have 7 DC in a rhino with a chapy & tycho... That's all I know, and fluff wise (and in the codex) it states once you give into the black rage you are inducted into DC regardless of rank....
I was thinking, if Tycho keeps making such a fuss, I get 4 drop pods & add 1 more DC with jump pack to each unit....with inferno pistol & power sword....Use tycho as reg trooper and add 1 more reg DC to make 8 DC in each rhino with chapy...That'd be 39 models...

So, although small, this force can deal out 70ish close combat hits & reroll 'em all to hit & wound! In the best case scenario, attacking & all, 120ish+ attacks hitting home & wounding! It'd be uber fun stuff....

I played a friendly game with 1000 pts of DC last weekend and it was a pain untill i got one JP DC squad with Astororath into assault range and killed the enemy troop choises and HQ IN two subsequent turns  before that my two smaller DC squads razors had been destroyed and the squads were bogged down or killed by some dreads. As a fun/friendly game army DC is fun of you are looking for narrative game rather than to win at all cost. If the opponent has a min/max army, then a DC list is pretty much screwed. I would add some ravens and a landraider for transports, as the DC can assault out of them, rather than just disembark and get bogged down in a tarpit and not get to utilize their assault power.
