So I haven't put up much in the way of pictures of the various projects I've been working on, mainly my primary army, my Necrons, but I love the new Dark Vengeance so much that I picked up 2 boxes and traded all the Dark Angels stuff for more Chaos. I plan to make the core of my CSM infantry from the totally awesome DV Chosen models.

First up is my Dark Apostle conversion. It's pretty straightforward, just the Power Maul guy, with his hand/Maul removed and replaced with a custom-made Chaos Crozius made from a Bloodcrusher icon pole, the head of the figure's Power Maul, and a Tomb Kings Tomb Guard icon top. Check him out:

Here's a back shot, featuring an OOP Rogue Trader era Chaos Rengades CSM backpack. I attached a Dark Elves Warriors' shield decoration to represent the Warband's primary heraldry, based around snakes. You can also see a serpent logo on the left shoulder pad which is from a cast of a Cold One Knights shield.

I am still puting the final touch-ups on him, but he's basically done. I went through a couple different schemes before I settled on this one, but I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. I've got 2 other guys almost finished, and I'll post pics when I get them done.

Comments, critiques, suggestions, etc. very welcome!

I like this guy a lot, and I really like the serpent imagery (the top of his Crozius reminds me of the Set symbol from the Conan movies.

My only critiques would be I feel the cloak is a bit too "shiny" compared to the more drab colors of the model (though that might just be flash reflection from the camera), and the paint looks a little thick on the face.

Very good work!

Thanks! The "shininess" is due to the use of a red glaze (GW's new line, "Bloodletter"). I am thinking of glazing all the red parts, to make them all uniform.

The paint *is* thick on the face, because the first full try at it didn't work out, so I had to completely repaint it. Even with the thickness it still looks better than it did before.

And right on with the Conan reference - this is quite by design. I always loved the Thusa Doom imagery, and this bit from the Tomb Kings line is both reminicent of that and works with my theme/design scheme.

I've touched him up and am basically done. I also finished 2 others, so I'll post pics of them too.

Keep an eye on this Blog!

I haven't been updating for ages, but I have been working on stuff. Here is my Terminator Lord conversion, which I've spent a lot of time on.

He doesn't have a head because I am painting that separately, to make it easier to get to all the nooks and crannies of the model. The cloak and arms aren't glued on yet either, just blu-tac-ed, for the same reason. As you can see, I'm continuing with the serpent-themed iconography (drawing most of the good bits for that from Warhammer Fantasy).

I am essentially done with a Sorcerer in Terminator armor and a Khrone/Berzerker-type guy, also in Terminator armor. Both are also heavily converted, and I'll post more pics soon.

I'm pretty pleased with these guys. I have some other fun stuff on deck as well, such as a Lord on a Juggernaut, and a counts-as Bloodthirster/Daemon Prince conversion. Pics of those coming soon as well.

Jealous that Horus is Warmaster

Looking good! I like how ornate he is, being a terminator lord and all.

Here's the lord I converted riding a Juggernaut. I just love the Juggernaut models, especially the new plastics, so I couldn't resist.

I'm particularly pleased with how he turned out. It took me forever to get the reins figured out, but I think it looks pretty good. I'm looking forward to painting him up!

Thanks! I finally got him primed, and he's next on the list of stuff to paint, after I'm done with the Termie Lord with the awesome WHFB Warriors of Chaos sword...

Stay tuned for pics!

Thanks! I am not planning on playing up the Khorne aspect in my army, though this Juggernaut rider and some others will have a Khorne flair. I hate how GW made Khorne CSM all frothing at the mouth madmen, rather than the intense but sane uber-martial warriors that they once were. Oh well.

Almost done with the Termie lord - very excited to post pics of him soon.
