Just got the new Chaos dex on Saturday and I love it from start to finish. But and this is a big BUT, the binding is already letting go, the worst is on pages 88 and 89 where there is a large gap between the pages.

I know to call the customer support line about this but has any one else had this issue with the chaos dex or any of the fantasy books?

Actually I gone through it a couple of times and mine is still pretty much new.

Maybe you just got a defective one.

Mine is solid too. However I saw a GK player at my venue last week who took his codex to an office supply stor which sliced off the binding and spiral bound his codex with a nice front and back cover.

People often do that as a preemptive measure. Not to mention its easier to flip through spiral binding and it doesn't hurt the pages as much.

True enough but I would rather snort a line of wood chips then do that to my brand new 60$ hardcover book.

Mine fell off at page 130 ish, atleast 5 pages and counting assuming I don't use it anymore.

Sort of agitated, cost me $67.

We are talking about the Necron codex, which isn't in hardback. And you paid $10 to much for your codex, FYI.

You still could have gotten for $10 less, just saying.

If pages are falling out, that is what is known in the trade as misbound. The publisher should honour warranty on the product, which varies from country to country, but I'd be very surprised if GW in Canada did not furnish a replacement. Take it in to the place you bought it and get them to take a look. If you got it on the interweb, well, the interweb ain't it's all cracked up to be - good luck.

Mine started falling apart too.

I've just carefully taken the pages out and filed them and bought a new book for the shelf.

With some ingenuity, you can rebound it, I can link book bounding tutorials I've made some time ago.

Call GW, tell them it's falling apart. Customer service may send you a new one.

While you certainly could get it spiral-bound, or rebind it yourself, if it's falling apart after only a few days reading you shouldn't have to resort to any of those measures. Contact GW and tell them the problem and try to get a new Codex.

I did this with the old softback codices but with the hardback hopefully I should not need to anymore.

I've had five different codecies over the years do that & everytime I called GW customer svc. They always sent me a replacement free of charge, no questions asked.

I havn't had an issue with GW hardbound books.

We've had them for Fantesy for over 2 years now and mine are holding together just fine. Its obviously a flaw with your particular book.

The only thing I have noticed is that the books warp slightly in heat, and thats my fault for leaving it in the hot car
