Right, I know Imperial Fists like playing castles and breaking them, just like Iron Warriors. Question is, would Fists attack using Drop Pods? If so would a counts as Vulkan be ok?

Thoughts and info, please

Imperial Fists are not excluded from using drop pods. Sometimes you do what you have to do. Just because they are good at sieges and building fortifications doesn't mean that that is ALL they do. If you want to use a counts as Vulkan to upgun your meltas and flamers that is perfectly allowable by the SM codex. So as far as the rules are concerned you are fine to go. For the drop pods it is even fine per the fluff. Would be cool, but not necessary, if you could come up with a good reason why this particular group of Imperial Fists has better flamers and meltas than other Fists do...

Yeah, I can see the Imperial Fists using a Vulcan counts as. As they are famous for their Sternguard, I can really see a counts as Vulkan being used in tandem with DP sternguard to cause some serious bunker busting pain.

You're thinking Crimson Fists. However, Sternguard with Vulkan and tons of combi-weapons is deadly as hell! Imperial Fists are just as happy to drop pod in forces as any other Marine chapter, so I think the OP will be good.

Space marines can do anything they deem necessary. There is no reason an Imperial Fist would be averted to using them. They DO have to be offensive at sometime, even if they specialize in castling and defending etc.

Plus things like SS/TH terminators are a very defensive and offensive unit. Plus things like meltaguns are an assault based heavy hitting/bunker busting weapon. I'd say go for it. It sounds cool to me

Imperial Fists are still a Codex chapter, and are held as exemplars of the Codex, second only to Ultramarines. So anything goes really...

No, actually thinking Sternguard. If you look at the old Index Astartes, IF had the first Sternguard. In fact the picture for Sternguard in the Codex is of IF.

Terminator squads cannot, terminators can.
