Subject: Skies of Blood/Grav Shoot onto a Sky Shield Landing Pad?

Question for the forum: If you move a Flyer (Transport) that is zooming over an UNfurled SSLP can the unit inside use skies of blood/grav shoot/etc to deep strike on to the pad without scattering?
From the most recent FAQ's, I would say "Yes."
What does everyone else think?

As long as they are deepstriking, and not just placed using the deepstrike rules, then yes

I guess I am a little confused as to the way you have worded this. Would you mind elaborating?
From how I am interpreting your statement you would still have the unit roll for scatter etc.?

There is a difference between "deployed as if deepstriking" and actually deepstriking.

Ahh thank you! That clears up the confusion.
To make sure I have this right then: If a unit is acutally deep striking it will not scatter on a SSLP. If the unit is using Skies of Blood/Grav shoot/etc. it will still scatter regardless, even if it is on a SSLP.

Agreed, as from memory both units deploy using the DS rules, as opposed to being "real" deepstrikers.

What's the current thinking on Veil of Darkness, Deep Striking or deploying using DS rules?
From on the board? From off the board?

But if the deepstriking rules would not result in a scatter, how is deploying as if deepstriking different?
