Hi Everybody,

Couldn't see this one up here yet, just dropped in the inbox. Neat looking poses on the new legion armour sets.

Hi there,
This week we are releasing a huge number of Legion-specific accessories for pre-order, first available at Games Day UK last month. We’re also excited to announce the release of three new versions of our popular variant power armour sets: MkII, MkIII and MkIV armour.

Legion Armour Sets and Accessories
The massed ranks of the Legiones Astartes are armoured in the finest war-plate produced by the forges and manufactories of Mars. Proudly bearing the heraldry of their Legion and Primarch it is by the fighting power of these superhuman warriors, armoured for battle in the deadliest of war zones, that the enemies of Mankind have been crushed time and again.

Will Hayes has designed three new sets of variant power armour, each of which contains five multi-part resin figures. These new sets of Legion MkII Armour, Legion MkIII Armour and Legion MkIV Armour contain new poses of legs and arms to add even more variety to either your Horus Heresy Legion force or your Codex Space Marines army. These new sets can also be combined with our existing armour sets, and with the range of plastic Space Marine kits available from the Games Workshop range.

Released alongside these new armour sets are additional weapons and accessories sets. Will has designed a set of Tigrus Bolters which contains ten resin weapons, and two sets of bolt pistols and pouches in both the Tigrus Pattern and Phobos Pattern.

In addition to all this Simon Egan and Edgar Skomorowski have designed sets of shoulder pads for the four Legions featured in The Horus Heresy Book I: Betrayal, each set containing ten resin shoulder pads for use with our variant power armour kits. This includes MkII armour Emperor’s Children, Sons of Horus, World Eaters and Death Guard shoulder pads, and MkIV armour Emperor’s Children, Sons of Horus, World Eaters and Death Guard shoulder pads.

We are also excited to announce the release of the World Eaters, Sons of Horus and Death Guard Decal Sheets, each designed by Paul Rudge and packed with Legion-specific heraldry, blazons and squad insignia. Paul has also designed sheets of Death Guard and Sons of Horus etched brass symbols, each of which contains a variety of different sized Legion symbols for use with our vehicles and infantry kits.

All these fantastic kits and accessories are available to pre-order now for despatch from Friday 2nd November.

So, what are we still missing that they have shown at Games Day UK? Weren't there autocannons for infantery?

There were the new rifle things that are available for infantry models on show as well as some heavy weapons for the legion infantry. Didn't get too close to that cabinet to see what was coming.

Aren't they just the same as the MkI-VI armour they released a few months back?

A variaty of poses is what they've been billed as to supplement the previously released models. Basic armour structure is that same but they've mixed up the poses.

"Different poses" according to the Newsletter

Rather disappointing "release" though, I admit.

But I guess they must be selling like hotcakes if it's worth doing another run of those with minimal variation.

I might be imagining things but the new models seem to be in more of a "shooting" pose whilst the previous ones look like they're redeploying or posing.

Well the variants are pretty nice. Some different detail on the torsos and the maximus suits have the different heads that were in the assault troops. If I ever get round to buying some FW stuff these would be the ones I get!

So the stuff left that still needs to be released is the heavy weapon guys, plasma gun and plasma blaster set, the champion, fella with the big chainsword and leion specific stuff. Not to mention all the things that we have not seen yet! Oh, the command sets as well, don't think they are on the site yet either...

They also have the Legion Shoulder Pads, decals, and etched brass on sale now. Additionally, these Tigris-pattern Bolters, which are awesome.

Agreed. The same release but in slightly different poses? I was expecting a lot better.

The "Tigris" pattern bolters and bolt pistols are just the same as the already released Tigrus pattern bolters except they're not bundled together and the bolters come with a set of new combat blades. The phobos pattern holstered pistols are all new, though. (though I believe they don't yet exist in a non-holstered version?) Still kind of meh that you can only get the unholstered Tigrus and Umbra pistols with the assault marine kits but *firstworldproblems*.

I'll agree that the legion armor kits could have shown more variation (Mk II / III helmets, Mk II / IV torsos) but they'll still be a nice alternative for when I run out of their original versions. Also, for those who are OCD like myself, the MK IV legion armor appears to have a different powerpack.

They're different but they look like the current plastic backpacks and not a new design.
