Subject: 1850 List - CSM

Hey there, I've got an 1850 list (actually 1851) for casual-competitive games, and was hoping to post it up here and get some feedback on some improvements.
Mostly its based on plasma, which has worked out for me quite alright so far (especially since a lot of people I play have this uncanny love for terminators...). I believe that the oblits are a must in this list, theres nothing like having 5 or 6 plasma cannons or 24 assualt cannon shots annihilating an unsuspecting squad of marines etc.
Also, I would like to incorporate some berzerkers somehow, as they were my bread and butter in 5th, but I'm not quite sure on an effective way to implement them..
Nonetheless, I'm open to all suggestions!
So, here is the run-down:
HQ
Chaos Lord - 145
Nurgle / Sigil of Corruption / Light Claws x2 / Gift of Mutation (He is running with the 9-man squad of plague marines)
Daemon Prince - 260
Pow. Armour / wings / Burning Brand of Skalathrax / MoT / Gift of Mutation
TROOPS
CSM x 10 - 262
CCW / plasma gun x2 / Champ: Light claw; Combi-plasma / Rhino + Havoc Launcher
CSM x 10 - 262
CCW / plasma gun x2 / Champ: Light claw; Combi-plasma / Rhino + Havoc Launcher
Plague Marines x9 - 307
Meltagun x2 / Champ: Power Fist; combi-plasma / Rhino + Havoc Launcher
Heavy Support
Obliterators x3 - 237
Nurgle / VotLW
Obliterators x2 - 158
Nurgle / VotLW
Defi - 220
Power Scourge
So That's it! 1851 Pts.
I'm fairly certain I've posted everything in the acceptable format, but please let me know if it's not! Any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I wouldnt bother with Zerkers,.
Im not keen in Princes, too expensive and fragile especially when he comes out of combat.
Defilers got expensive also, maybe something better you could do with the points.. Helldrakes, Havocs with ML/Autos..Maulerfiend is dirt cheap.
Nothing wrong with Oblits and MoN is a must.

Great List! I've ran this kind of thing before and it works a charm in shooty objective games!

I kinda have to agree with you l0rd that the zerkers have been significantly nerfed from the past... its just sad that I have near 50 of them that won't be used as often!
Despite that, I think I may try to create a list that involves three squads of 15, some cultists, and an hq that has master of deception( ?) and a chaos lord to make into troops, just to see what would happen.

and thanks sgt. Kell! its nice to have some shooty troops on the board, especially ones that can hole up in tall ruins when they need! (coming from a 5th edition rhino zerker rusher )

My initial reaction is you're a bit light on scoring units for 1850 since CSM can't combat squad.
I'd suggest dropping the Daemon Prince and the Defiler, both of which are way too spendy for what they bring to your army.
You can replace them with a pair of heldrakes with baleflamers (which accomplish the same things for cheaper) and use the extra points toss in two small units of cultists to go to ground on backfield objectives.
Hope this helps!

Combat squads: yet another reason we aren't JUST space marines with spikey bits
But seriously, this is a great idea! I've been meaning to get my hands on some cultists, and this would be a very useful implementation!
now I just need to scavenge a cool $150 for some heldrakes (maybe I can borrow/proxy in the meantime)
Thanks!

I can't really comment on the whole list but I'll go for the units that I've managed to digest so far. I'd probably drop the gift of mutation from the Lord. It's a fun upgrade but at the end of the day your spending 10pts that may not be too useful depending on what you roll on the boons chart.
Additionally, I'd drop the defiler. I liked them in the last edition of the Codex but they're now way to expensive for what they do.
