Hi Guys, am planning to start an allied detachment for my deathwing army and am going to buy some elysians. Don't bother telling me they're expensive, i know, but any other feedback would be good. Before I begin buying though, i would like some feedback on my list i have come up with. The reason my deathwing is in the allied detachment is because i can fit all of the components i want into the restriction and leave more flexibility for the elysians to have more fast attack/ heavy support if needed. I can still fit more terminators or a land raider or something into my deathwing while still having it allied. Anyway, this is my list.

I would use Vendettas instead, the ordnance rule really makes valkyries with hellstrike missiles crap. And you need to open the transports for the Vulture to lay the hurt on.
Valkyries are no threat at all imo, Vendettas are much better and perform AT and anti TEQ well.

I use Elysians for allies with my SM force usually like this:
CCS, 2 meltaguns (4 when i get more models)
1 veteran squad, 2 meltaguns
2 vendettas in squadron
1 vulture with punisher cannons
=590p
If the ordnance rule was different one of those vendettas would have been a Valkyrie dedicated transport.

So use your list as is, but switch Valkyries for Vendettas and you're gtg

Your advice is sound in an optimization sense
but how cool are Valkyries with rocket pods / heavy bolters ?

The list doesn't have the necessary staying power to be competitive anyway

Rocket pods are awesome. 2 large blast frag missiles, multi-laser and 6 HB shots wreck up most infantry. Although you do have to snap shot one weapon. You have a vulture though, that'll probably do better. Although the vulture can just sneak behind vehicles and glance them to death.

Star Trek taught me so much. Like, how you should accept people, whether they be black, white, Klingon or even female...

I've always been split on the Vulture myself. When it's time to shoot loading a vulture with 4x Rockets pods is just AMAZING fun when your opponent says "How many templates does that thing have on it!?", then tagging them with the H-bolter on the nose. But the punisher just looks freaking Awesome

I'm going to magnetise the valks/vendettas and the guns on the vulture so don't worry about that. I know that the list doesn't have much staying power so how could I fix that. Maybe drop a dw squad for some marines, but then I'm worried one dw squad is pointless and I should reorientate to the ravenwing. Do you think this is competitive? How could I make it better?

Your model count is really low. I know a deathwing army chooses that, but having 20 guardsmen doesn't compensate enough for it.

Any opponent with AA and plasma would wreck this, but you'd win on coolness points

Of course you should fight fire with fire. You should fight everything with fire.

I know it's not the most competitive, but how could I make it more so? Ravenwing, more bodies, more terminators, Land raiders?
At the moment the Deathwing targets elites and hq's, and the veterans blow up vehicles and masses of troops, the fliers will mop up, if they're alive

Vendetta's would help alot, along with some more bodies. Take away Demolitions to make room for it
